Chuzzle Windows 8

Have this game on Windows 7 computer working fine. Tried to install it on my Windows 8 computer. With the hardware acceleration on it will crash after start up. Can't get it to run long enough to uncheck it. Even after reinstalling the game it won't reset. how do you clear saves & configuation of game?

Been wondering this myself, my mother has been having troubles.

A simple panning through the directory of the game will show that

%steamgamelocation%\steamapps\common\Chuzzle Deluxe\Profiles\config.cfg

is where all the settings are stored. However mine doesn't have HW Acceleration enabled and I'm finding that it's crashing pretty much all the time.

Other things I've tried.

Compatibility mode, Run as Administrator.

Only thing that seems to work is inside "config.cfg" there's a "DX::SafeMode=false" change "false" to "true" and I haven't had a problem. However it looks like everything will work 100% just it won't have backgrounds or any graphical eyecandy.

I'm using windows 8, and I tried Chuzzle Deluxe. I'm using the disc version, don't know if it's any different than the steam version. The screenshots look the same.
