Got it working on Windows 10 (and probably 8.1)

Find the Chuzzle.exe
Right-click > Properties > Compatibility Mode tab.
Run in compat mode for XP SP3.
Disable display scaling
(Run as administrator may or may not help.)
In the in-game settings menu you can use Hardware Acceleration and change resolution with HW acceleration on, but
DO NOT use the custom cursor.

If you have it stuck not being able to load into the game to change the in-game settings, run the Compatibility Troubleshooter in the Compatibility tab, click Troubleshoot Program (2nd option), check the first 2 boxes, Next, XP SP3, Next, Test the Program. That should reset the settings that are causing the problem. Again, do not enable the custom cursor, but Hardware Acceleration is working fine for me.

Suddenly my game started to act strangely. Very slow as if it has some kind of lag.
I've tried to change the compatibility mode, but the game doesn't load because Steam.dll is missing...

I got it working somehow, but whitout background pictures and stuff like that. Cant play it now, it feels so wrong ^^
In Windows 8 and 8.1 it worked perfect.

If I use any compatibility mode it wont load, just as for marina_kinue

it's strange... sometimes it crashes in the very beginning and I even need to restart my Win10. Other times, it works well and smoothly...

im just having a problem with the fullscreen mode, the game works fine, it's just the background images wouldn't load. I noticed when i made the game windowed, the background images appear

The easiest solution is to turn on hardware acceleration, and turn off the custom cursors, directdraw (part of directx) gets confused with the game instructions due to a programming bug, making the game freeze, turning off the custom cursors skips the bug making the game playable again

if you can't get to the settings menu i recomend you to delete the config file

Try turning on Windowed Mode, and go to a different screen (e.g. entering or exiting a mode)

I can't get hardware acceleration to work i have an rtx 2080 it just says oops video card not supported i have tried everything game works fine i just can't change resolution cuz of this

copy the steam.dll from the main location directly into the games folder
