Steam release was around the time of Dushevnaya's patch, so you missed like 3 event stories excluding the one that was on at the moment, one of which is directly connected to the main story, and one which also gave us a free doll complete with her gun and all her dupes. No idea if and when they'll bring them back, but I know the free doll is getting added in a shop in the future, and as for the stories worst case scenario you can just watch them on youtube.
Other than that I think you only missed minor cosmetic stuff like avatars/frames/badges and weapon skins.

Yeah every major event of each patch has its own story, it's usually like one chapter of the main campaign in terms of length, sometimes there are two parts like the current one.

How often is a major Event, every month?

Usually around 3 weeks, the one that's on right now seems to be an exception cause it's split in 2 parts

The Daiyan, Centaureissi and the current Aphelion event are more or less story related, but they are going to roll out an update (unless they have already done that) for CN adding these events story chapters to the main story page.
So currently we have up to Chapter 8, but once they are added it will be:
- Daiyan event, Chapter 8.3
- Centaureissi event, Chapter 8.7
- Aphelion event, Chapter 9 and 10

As for the missed costumes, they are rerunning them now and then in the store, so if there is some costume/outfit for a character that you really want, just keep an eye out in the store.

Seems to be mostly Answered already.
Adding the one Part which did not seem to be entirely Answered.

You will not miss any Content Permanently.
All of the Content (At least so far) is being Rerun in one way or another.

Characters and Weapons are Rerun quite often.
Currently the Standard seems to be that every New Character Event also Adds a Rerun Banner for one of the Previous Characters. (Including their Weapons)
Right now for example. Klukai is the New Character while Makiatto is a Rerun from an earlier Event.
Basicly every 3 Weeks there seems to be a Rerun of a Character and his Weapon.

Full Event Reruns are less often. So the Actual Story of an Event is something You only get once or twice a Year for now.
However. They have already Added the "Previous Event" Tab in the Menu.
Right now this Feature is not Active.
But it basicly means that at some Point. When there is too many Events to have Regular Reruns of these Events.
The Older Events will be added to this Tab and become Permanently Available.
So while it may take a while until You get a Specific Event you Missed. You dont need to worry about missing them.

Rewards and Codes are a Different Story tough ^^
These might not Rerun and might not Return at all.
So if You missed Login Rewards or Reward Codes. You usually Missed them.
BUT. These ONLY have Generally Available Rewards. Usually its just normal Ressources which are gained on a Daily Basis anyways.
So missing them is basicly the same as failing to do your Daily Quests etc.
Codes and Login Rewards which can be Missed are basicly never things which you cannot get in other ways later on.

Wow, thank you very much. That helps me a lot, and I can play a little more relaxed now.
Can only hope to get the characters, Klukai just doesn't want to at the moment and slowly I'm running out of resources for the pulls.
When it comes to outfits, you have to buy most of them with real money, which I've seen. There is so much stuff going on in the beginning, but i like it very much. Such a great game.
