short review
So since the steam version STILL hasnt launched and I'm pretty sure nobody has said ♥♥♥♥ about it I'm just gonna leave my review of the game here since I am now done with the game.

The gameplay is alright, nothing too special but not bad, the bossfights have actual mechanics you need to interact with to either win at all or beat them faster which is very rare for gacha games so big thumbs up there.

The gacha is just about as bad as it gets, complete garbage bottom of the ocean rates you would typically only see on the biggest games that are very confident you'll play it regardless.

The main story was a pretty decent experience I think somewhere in the middle of chapter 2 I started caring and ended up reading story through to the end minus a few pointless dialogues and pre-combat irrelevant yapping. Event story, however, was, as usual, of no interest and makes you happy there is a skip button.

Now on to why I would or would not recommend this game:
This is one of those gacha games that gives you a total of about 10 minutes of gameplay A WEEK once you are past the first few days, I think I beat the story on day 3, and minus the boss fight mode which I actually had to try a little on everything was able to be done on auto. I ended up sticking around for a week more and the account xp progress is already so excruciatingly slow that pretty much nothing happens ever. If you want a gacha game to not have to play pretty much at all which I'm told some people actually like I guess this is for you but I like games that you can actually play. Also as a final add-on I want to mention that this is yet another game where the global server is way behind cn so literally everything that happens in the future is already spoiled so there is nothing to look forward to.

"Server x is y months ahead so everything is spoiled"

Easy fix: dont look stuff up.

If that's the only thing you convinced yourself you could nitpick then I must have done a pretty good job. Also, I disagree entirely. "not looking anything up" would entail literally not looking at anything about this game online ever and even if you did that you would still be impacted by it since there are competitive parts to this game which players that do "engage in the spoilers" would have potentially quite large advantages in.

caring about the small pvp part of an gacha game which basically comes down to "who throws more real world money at the game" is kinda useless if you ask me. even when i field the worst comp but all my units are max fortify lvl i most likely beat any f2p user or small spender that has optimal setups, but only lvl0 or lvl1 fortify units. im not looking for an pvp experience in an gacha game therefore any potential gain anyone would have from analyzing the chinese server and therfore having max chances to win is a none issue to me. also even if we where on the same version as the chinese you could simply look up stuff on "best/meta combs" and get an edge that way since guides will be written within 1-2days of new content releasing.

what else was there to disuss in your first post? you basically rated it as an 5/10 or 6/10 which i would agree with.
the stamina system is what it is and i personally have no problem if a gacha game is an 10-30minutes a day kinda deal outside of event stuff or story expansions.

lastly i can tell you there are most likely more people not looking stuff up than the other way around.

ps: most gacha games are piss easy and lacking in content for "real gamers". if you want challange and/or real skill based pvp then go look for a other genre of games.

This can not be overstated enough. It's really hard to get SSR, then even harder to get the one you wanted/needed. And it's double gacha for character and for weapon. And they got an absurd amount of copies required to improve either of the two further. Most people will just have half baked dolls and there is not much you can do about it.

I have every doll except 1 as a completely free to play player, in fact I have one of them as V1. Its not as if I have incredibly good luck considering I hit pity multiple times. Compared to other gacha games like FGO which does not even have a realistic pity rate, this is very generous.

Also, complaining about gacha and the lack of content is complete nonsense. If you had actually played the game as much as the new content offers (like events and stuff), you would not be complaining about the gacha as you would have had enough gems to hit pity multiple times over and get the new units.

Lot of things for the review does not add up. You cannot catch up to the story in 3 days unless you either skipped the story or played 8 hours a day doing nothing but story and ignoring the event. The events have all the challenging content.

sorry to burst your bubble, but i completed the whole story (1-6) in 1-2 days. you get alot of those 60stamina chips for free.

as to the gacha: yes you get (currently) all event dolls as free 2 play, but you wont get them + their gun maxed out (duplicates).

op is right in his complaint about not enough content once you have beaten the story and some challange missions. challange missions will reset every 1-2 weeks, but then again most of them are beaten in 5-10minutes, so you get a few hours max every 2weeks + some event stuff which again is 30mins of gameplay and another 1-2h of story. so if you want to play this game as your "main game" there is nothing to do. in other gacha games like honkai star rail, genshin impact or wuthering waves there are activitys that do not require stamina and grant you rewards and/or are fun to do.

for me (lvl45) the current event boiled down to yolo charge the enemy and i did not need any tactical thinking to complete all missions+side goals. and yes im talking about ALL the event quests.

ps: if anyone is concerned about p2w pvp aspect: i was rank 36 in the first season and im currently rank 96 as a free 2 play user.

GFL2 is not tactics, it's Genshit gacha system clone with a "tactical wrapping".

the gacha is actually really good, doesn't take long to gain pulls, if you want bad gacha look at arknights or FGO

Actually a few things were Said about it.
Steam is Supposed to come in the First Quarter of 2025.
Apparently they Run into Trouble with Steam Integration. But are Silent as to what this is about.
Theories are everywhere from them just wanting to Hog the Early Money because Steam takes a Cut. Or there being a Problem because Steam is US which is soon under Trump while GFL2 is a Chinese Game.
But what the Truth is we cannot know. Because all of this is User Speculation with no Official or Reliable Statement so far.

2.
I also Disagree for the Gacha Part being Bad.
Because while Rates are Poor. You are also Spammed with Ressources for Pulls.
I mean Seriously. The amount of Collapse Pieces You get to Buy Tickets for is pretty Nuts.
So it makes no Difference if Rates are Bad.
You get so many Draws anyways. That its easy to get everything You want.
You really dont need Real Money at all unless You want to get several Copies of Event Dolls etc.

3.
Funny enough. I would be Careful with Skipping Event Stories.
Because they will often Interlink with the Main Story and become Relevant Later.
And Yeah. This Games Predecessor after all became Succesful because of the Deep Story.
The last Update also added another Chapter.

4.
On the Last Part I need to make 3 Comments.
4.1
Actually. This Server will take a Completely Different Route than CN.
So You actually dont have much Spoiling there.
Fun Fact. Our Events both were Different.
Also it seems that Global has a Faster Shedule so it Catches up to CN and becomes somewhat Parallel over time.
So thats really not an Issue.
Only thing You could Spoil would be the Story if You want to Look it up beforehand.
4.2
This is a Visual Novel with Gameplay Elements.
You can Play alot in it. But the Primary Selling Point is Story and Gacha Collection.
You will get quite the Challenges on Hard Mode and Event Challenges tough.
So if You are into that. I Recommend Trying for that.
They wont make the Core Story on Normal too Difficult.
After all they want Casual Players to be able to Read and Enjoy the Full Story.
4.3
Honestly Said. There is ALOT of Gameplay even on Later Days.
But its not Necessary if You dont want to.
Which is Good. Because it means You dont need to Spend lots of Time on it Constantly.
This is not some MMO where You are Expected to Spend 3-8 Hours a Day to Play :)
Its a Mobile Game that Aims to give You some Daily Routine and Fun on the Side.
Level Progression is Decent to be Honest.
Especially since You can just Auto Supply Missions. And thus basicly gain Levels Automaticly over Time.
If You wanted. You could also use the Tons of Extra Stamina Items we all got. And Quickly Level pretty High if You want to.

God... the Gacha in Arknights is likely the one thing I hate about it.
Its such a Nice Story and Generally pretty Cool and Immersive Game.
But the Gacha Kills me....

just because there are a few worse ones out there doesn't mean this one is good, we should expect better.

1. yeah they said something a whole 1 month after the game launched and also after this post was created, lol.
2. That's just because this is the launch the resources will obviously dry up quite a bit
3. Don't worry I uninstalled long ago doesn't matter lol
4.1 who cares if the order is a bit different you still know what every event is or character does if you care to find out
4.2 As I said, it's personal preference if you like games that aren't actually real games
4.3 I highly disagree about the amount of gameplay and the comment about stamina refreshes is just wrong because I used them all and didn't even get to level 40 in a week with them lol

Fair Enough.

2.
Sorry but that is just your Bias.
Given what we have Seen so far each Event keeps bringing more Ressources.
Which makes Sense. Because this is Generally how such Mobile Games keep People Active.

3.
Your Loss :)

Well sure. I can also Look up a Summary, Walkthrough, Guide etc. For pretty much every Single Game, Movie, Book etc out there unless I effectively Binch it on Day 1.
And sometimes even that is not Early enough because Press Release and Streamers already got it some Days Earlier and are through it before its Released.
So Sorry. But thats on You.
If You cannot Resist looking it up and Spoiling Yourself. Then that is your Problem.
And if You consider that a Problem then its a Problem for every Single Game, Movie, Book etc out there.

4.2
Good so You are Saying that You are not Writing a Real Review but just Complain about your Personal Preferences not being met.
I cannot Judge your Personal Preferences. But maybe You should Learn not to Disparage other Peoples Preferences. ;)

A Single Event Lasts 1 Month. And You are basicly Complaining that in a Quarter of that Time You aint going to Unlock everything in the Game....

Pathetic. As i am not a children's daycare employee and am thus not getting paid for this I shan't be entertaining you further. Get well soon.
