GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM

GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM

Downloading from their website and various questions...
I am quite interested in this game, yet I am not seeing it released on Steam... Should I download it from their main website instead? And, if I do so, once it's released on Steam, will I be able to link my account to the Steam game to continue the progression?

Apart of that, I wanted to ask something about the lore of this game. Is the first one needed to be played to get to know the story well enough?

Thanks!

yes you'll most likely be able to link up your account from the launcher to steam

it's not needed but it helps understanding some innuendos / plots

But, is the first one released on PC? Or only in mobile?

Thank you for the answers.

I believe the first one was mobile only considering its very simplistic gameplay you find in every mobile gacha, but I never tried playing it myself

Then I'll simply search about the first game lore and just start playing this one

Keep in mind that GFL has a gigantic lore and saying "I look up the (13 Chapters plus Main Story Events) of GFL 1" is basically like saying "I look up the the first three episodes of Star Wars": It works to understand the basics, but there is way more. I just found this 1 hour long videos covering the story before GFL 1 even begins.

Indeed. I found out a 60 pages Google Document, it seems pretty good!

If you want to link your account to Steam, HAOPLAY is a must (at least that what ppl say to me).
Another reeason I started playing there is that SUNBORN didn't allow me to pay! (no payment method to choose, no ingame or another window loaded for me).
Even if I could not link my acc to Steam, at least I can pay when I using HAOPLAY launcher.*

*sounds weird but I really wanted to buy certain skins the moment I saw them

I ended up playing few days ago and thanks God I did! Such a cool game, graphics and, well, Dolls!
Apart of that the story reminds me a lot of MGS so I like it even more
