Also servers are different but I dunno If it change anything aside maybe loading speed.
The only difference is the localization. I've made a guide yesterday explaining everything, but it seems Haoplay still didn't approve it, while in Darkwinter community I already published it through a friend of mine.
Basically this is the map for each region. Data between servers do not share so pick the correct one and stick with it.

as @Morfo2's pict
Steam will detect your region and will change server (DW / Haoplay) based on your region,
So many ppl cries over that they can't play on their server (mostly DW server) coz their region is in Haoplay region ( or vice versa )
note that GFL2 on Steam has both DW and Haoplay but it based on your region like in App/Play Store

Switching servers within the client changes nothing, you are still denied your progress.
I will just uninstall the game on Steam and keep playing it via the original client to be able to access my progress.
Simple as.
changing server in client (which is globe icon on login screen of the game) is not the same as what i said.
if your gfl2's publisher in steam page is HaoPlay then it's HaoPlay version, you can't change it to DW version unless you change your steam region account, so just simply play on the game client as before and ignore the steam version.
