no set release date?!
like most of central, western and southern europe (with the exception of ireland for some curious reason), the publisher for my region is supposed to be haoplay. the steam page also says as much. BUT even tho the release for that version is supposed to be on the 5th, steam still says "no set release date."
did they just not bother to update the steam page or does the steam version get another delay? cause i can't find anything on the gf2 website either.

the 5th i knew already from youtube. but i wasn't sure if it's for steam as well. cause lagging behind is fatal in some gachas.

Here's a release countdown : https://countingdownto.com/?c=5917884
This is for the Darkwinter version tho (which everyone should play on)

i won't be using a vpn just to play another publisher's version. and my question was obviously not when the general release is, but if steam gets an extra delay since the product page still doesn't list a release date.

It should be possible to use the Darkwinter PC client to play, no need for a VPN (unless you REALLY want to use Steam). If you want to play on moblie => Darkwinter APK
That being said, Darkwinters Steam page[steamdb.info] hasn't a release date, either.

good to know they're slacking on both sites. so i'm guessing steam will just be available whenever the other clients work.

What do you mean "which everyone should play on"?

Why? And how would I choose which one to play if Steam only lists one game?

depending on your region you only get to see either the darkwinter or the haoplay page (check the publisher info on whatever page you're seeing). i agree with another guy tho that haoplay seems to be the better option longterm since it covers both japan and south korea which is home to the bulk of whales that fund the game. meaning darkwinter's version will probably go oos much sooner than haoplay's.

well to put a bit of salt into this i just saw a post + pic from the CBT client that Haoplay will be split into 4 regions ( also makes me wonder whats gonna happen to the Darkwinter Side are they also gonna split this ? )

( Regions: Japan / Korea / Asia / Global )

sorry really not understanding the part where the Devs make the player base even smaller then it already is... i really hope this get changed in the official release

and it would be really nice if a Dev or the Publisher could clear this up so that all the doom post about the different publishers finally stops the zero communication is driving me nuts XD haha

Keep in mind that Darkwinter is a part of MICA. It would be rather strange for them to shut down their own servers and while those of a different publisher are still running.
Also keep in mind that the CN server for GFL 1 will shut down at the end of the year because MICA and the regional provider weren't able to renew the contract. This might also happen to Haoplay.

I know right? It's ridiculous that we're seeing no official statement about this after all the
online discussion generated.

Was GFL1 turning profit in these regions? You generally don't EOS a game that generates dough
TallyhoJrIV Nov 30, 2024 @ 4:08pm
the official twitter account announced it would come on Tuesday 3rd December

for the 3rd or so time: it's about whether the game comes to steam later or not since the steam page still doesn't list a release date. i'm well aware of the release date of december 5th (since haoplay is responsible for my region).

I guess? GFL was very F2P friendly from the beginning and said friendliness even increased over the years. This plus the fact that GFL is online since 2016 in CN lead to memes that GFL as a whole is a money laundering machine.
Apart from that, it would be odd for them to shut down CN, because it is the oldest server and the story is nearing its end. Futhermore, there are rumors MICA is working on bringing the servers back with another provider.
