GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM

GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM

So... how is the community for this serie?
I was interested in joining the game given I like Xcom... so I got on youtube to watch some info... And I got suggested drama videos about players being angry... for a toothbrush? And players getting angry for a character talking with male NPC? Sooo... is rest of community like this or some drama that is about only strange China players?

All because one chad character to mald the Chinese Community as known Mr. Raymond for "NTR" and the toothbrush thing is because of raymond as well because the Chinese playerbase were sh*t talking against devs so they rewarded that because they speak too much and they got even angrier :steamlaughcry:

Extremely based.

Conclusion of the story. Just the strange Chinese players, not the global playerbase

It’s just China - and it’s even debatable how real all that drama was a lot of people seem to think all of that was being perpetuated by water armies (google the term if not familiar). And there is some good evidence for that considering the concerted effort they used to try and sink the Reverse Collapse release as well
Thanks, I learned today what water army is now haha. It comfort me that is only a China thing.

Prepare for PTSD, slav and war memes. This game and community will show you what it means to enjoy after having to cry for hours.

Well I'll add my few cents to these thoughts:
1. Everyone I met in GFL1 was rather nice. However, the tools for communication ingame were limited so there was just a minimum level of interaction. Which probably helped keeping potential conflicts at a minimum.

2. This is a mobile game. Mobile game communities tend to have a much lower age average than MMOs. Thus people are more likely to have a short fuse in certain situations. Note that I know there are enough rage head 40+ years olds and enough cool headed under 20 kids, just talking about the average.

3. Youtubers/content creators are a terrible choice when it comes to claiming representation of a gaming community. These people make money from grabbing attention and creating controversity. When being weird or mean means a bigger pay cheque they will do it.
