yeah this version on steam is haoplay the steam darkwinter version is blocked for me
and yes once steam finally comes out you can just login to your account and play where you left off ( IF YOU PICK HAOPLAY THAT IS i don't think you can install darkwinter through steam its blocked after all and pretty much impossible to do trough steam well more like not worth all the trouble )

So in short if you 100% whant to play through steam later wait for the haoplay version that will release in 2d 5h 20 min form now

Darkwinter steam version also isn't available for me from what I saw. Will definitely think on it and see what happens tomorrow since I'd assume there will be more information once the darkwinter version starts?
Also thanks and hopefully I enjoy this? It's free so obviously there's no harm in trying this. Don't normally play strategy games like this or XCOM or whatever but it should be an interesting change of pace to the stuff I usually play?
I could access the link Shiro sent but when I click on download on windows it tells me the download isn't available in my region, and when I clicked on the link you sent it installed the overseas launcher which my anti-virus immediately deleted it.
I'll wait until tomorrow to see what happens but something tells me I might have to download the Haoplay version instead which seems to be the inferior version according to some people since it's not the main dev version but kinda need more information on both versions before I have any final thoughts?
Apparently not from what I've heard, so it's best to stick to one version.
You can't download it from dark winter because you need a vpn to download the exe file after that you can just disable/uninstall the vpn and use you own Internet
Or just download from the link above that Paolini posted that's the dark winter version if you don't trust it copy the link and google Virus total that will scan the file with every virusscanner out ther
Tip: if you decided afterwards that you're gonna play on the haoplay server just download the exe file from haoplay install the game in the same location you used before and it will just copy a few mb into the old folder to change it into haoplay so you don't have to download the whole game again ^^
And yeah haoplay and dark winter are 2 seperate accounts you need to be on the same publisher to play with your friends and in haoplay's case also the same region because it gets split in 4
Yeah sure, Haoplay doesn't give a turd about EN in terms of marketing but does that matter when DW already does it? Just play on Haoplay if thats your region and use DW socials for EN news/foresight cause they have the same content... unless you're that impatient you can't wait 2 days.
If by some miracle a version were to shut down (neither will because Yuzhong won't let gfl die but if it ever happens) then it'll 99% be DW which won't matter anyway as Mica will either merge with Haoplay and continue there or just tell DW players to start over again on Haoplay (lol).
Alright Update:
Wait for the Haoplay version it sucks that you have to wait 2 more days but so be it unless you want to pay with usd and it looks like paypal is the only option or something witch charges 10% extra
Other then that the game is fun so looking forward once i can really play it ^^
Shame, but it's probably better to wait in that case? No problems waiting the extra two days anyway.
forgot to mention that there is still no release date for steam and zero info about that.
same for the darkwinter side. game has been released now but no info when the steam release is
Also since this is a different publisher than the NA one, they can at any point decide to fk us over since this isnt handled by the devs themselves. Even the translation is different.
If you want to play now and with your murican friends, it seems you need a VPN, however idk how this will affect you later since I dont think u can play it on mobile anymore then unless you use emulator.
the way I did it was download a vpn for my browser and downloaded the sunborn website client. Game is running fine and store seems to work aswell since paypal auto corrects it to € for me. aside from not screwing around to get it on mobile, pc works good so far.
I would rather stay on sunborn servers because I loved the way GFL1 worked and I hear haoplay for the first time in my life, who are they even
