To those with sound issues
I had the problem where speech was not working but after some searching my sound setup was set to 5.1 surround for some reason even when I was using my headphones, I changed it back to headphone mode and now everything works perfectly.

Just something to check if you are having the no speech problem like I did.

I am having a problem with fluctuating voice volumes that is especially noticeable during action scenes only in Episode 2. Episode 1 remains to be fine.

It's possible that switcihing from 5.1 surround to headphone mode might fix episode 2 but i would rather use my 5.1 speakers to their fullest effect.

Episode 1 is still fine in 5.1 surround so why is it only Episode 2 that ahs this problem?

Maybe they messed up the audio mixing, I can't really tell why episode 1 is fine and not 2. Episode 1 worked perfectly for me also.

Where are you changing that setting? The only thing I see in audio/video settings for the game is volume, brightness and subtitles.
Either in the Windows 7 Control Panel Sound Settings or my Audio Software Settings or the actual settings on the speakers.

I ended up fixing it by simply turning off the surround sound switch on my headset. (Logitech G35)

In windows, rightclick the volume speaker in the bottom right (standard if you haven't moved the tastbar around) and select playback devices, then find your driver that produces sound, usually called Speakers followed by the name of the card, "realtek high definition audio" in my case. If you are unsure which one it is play some sounds to see which one shows the green bar moving. Rightclick on that one and select "configure speakers" and change it to stereo if it is set to anything else.

Ofc this might vary depending on your soundcard, the soundcard might have its own setting screen also where it can be changed.

Right but this still doesnt explain why Episode 1 is fine in 5.1 Surround sound but not Episode 2. I think if you want to play Episode 2 in 5.1 Surround you can force it through your speakers/receiver if you have that option or wait for TellTale to update the audio encoding for Episode 2.

That I cannot answer, only telltale is able to answer that one, this is a quick fix so let's hope there is a patch or that the next episode works like normal again.

Hopefully they address this, it's clear TellTale spent alot of time and effort into the voice recordings and sound effects of this game not to mention everything else.

I play in 5.1 sound, but only have 2.0. Is this normal or does anyone have real 5.1 (with sound from the back) ?

I bought the game yesterday. Till now I have no sound at all. Whats worse when this game is playing there is no sound anywhere. Meaning if I start a movie there is no sound on it. Only when I stop this game does the sound come back.

I have more than 7 games installed in my pc all of which runs flawlessly and I never faced a single problem in any other game or program so far. Not sure what I can do..
