He is a virtuous man at heart, after all...
Be honest with him and he's honest with you. "Not that Cersei will appreciate your honesty."
Tyrion talks to you in the scene. Wheither or not he speaks is not in question here nor related to the OP. It is wheither or not you can get him to give names...
You were set up to fail before the scene opened therefore you lose. Aaad it is not like getting those names matters since Tyrion never calls any witness to trial what with the Viper Vs. the Mountain and all, rendering the whole scene unnecisary and boiling it down to filler in an episdoe that was already WAAAY short.
To be fair it did come out faster than most episodes.
Arn't you forgetting something mate? Cercei just lost a son, her beloved Joffrey. She always were paranoid and hated Tyrion. But, he is a bloody hero of Kings Landing (his family and high sochiety may not admit it, but people do), he is master of intrigues (And Cercei well aware of that), he have friends and some of them may come to his aid (actually that kinda did happened), and with everything going on now in Kings Landing, maybe (paranoia duh) someone will testify on behalf of imp (spoiler that actually happened).
So, Cercei just plays Game of Thrones: She want to be sure on 110% that Tyrion is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and gonna be executed, that nobody will help him and that this arrest wasn't also part of his wicked plan of some sort
No one testified for Tyrion at his trial. No one. He got to ask Varys one question, but Varys was Cersei's witness. He spoke on his own behalf, but he always going to do that anyways. Oberyn took up for Tyrion, but he was one of the judges, not a witness.
Cersei was rigging the trial and quite successfully without any help from Mira. You can argue that maybe she hoped Mira would learn about allies that she was unaware of, but potential witnesses? There never were going to be any, just like Tyrion says in the game.
True, but think it over from Cercei point. Again, in book her condition were very well described. Even without, this is exactly what a woman like her may be thinking given circumstances.
Oberyn Martell! Though Tyrion couldn't imagine he will fight for him, it's still happened. And before that Bronn, not a big secret what Bronn did to Tyrion back in the Eyrie. So again who said Cercei is not paranoid enough to think her brother may pull same trick twice?
