SPOILER -The Traitor-
Is it me or does the traitor depends on your choice of sentinel or whom of your two trusted advisors in the small council do you listen the most?
This is obviously a spoiler
In my playthrough I have chosen Duncan as sentinel and have been balanced with diplomacy and aggression, and when I learned about the traitor I immediately thought of Royland since whitehills are just waiting an excuse for war and all royland wants is war. Hence before the trade with the whitehills I garrisoned Ironwrath and took Royland. (This is to not leave Royland alone in ironwrath undefended if he was the traitor, and he is the best warrior to protect me in whitehill territory).

In the end I was right about Royland turning traitor but the way Talia told me how she learned about the traitor seemed to me that it could go either way. Talia said that he was Family. Is there a possibility that Duncan would turn traitor. I guess that's the point I want to drive home to. I have yet to make another playthrough until the 6th episode is available but I want to know if there is anyone out there whose Duncan turned traitor. Thanks, Iron from Ice.

It DOES depend on your choice of sentinel, it's kinda stupid.

I don't get it if Duncan is the traitor. How does telltale twist this. He's a commoner that befriended the Lord of Ironwrath (Rodrik's dad) and was assigned as Castellan of Ironwrath (no small title since it means he is in charge with the internal affairs of the land). What does he gain by betraying Rodrik just because Ethan wanted a warrior to be the Hand (or sentinel) of Ironwrath?

That's just the point, it is unbelievable in both cases.
For me Ser Whatshisface was the traitor, he pretty much criticized backing down to Gryff and not taking any guards to Highpoint despite me comming back unharmed. Now imagine the same situation when you aka Rodrik walked the warpath like he suggested.
What he would say: "You did everythink right, just the way I would have done but I still pout because that dead boy did not make me sentinel so I am going to get you all killed."

Yeah dude, same here. I'm like 'he was going to kill Talia, what else should i have done?' It was the biggest let down of this whole series right now. Seriously, ser Royland would side with bandits pretending to be nobles? that's not his personality. Forgetting that they both hate Whitehill more than the Forresters, him and Duncan, they both swore to serve house forrester. They are both grown men and have seen and done enough to know no one man is going to have the answer. It's like why i stopped playing XCOM, I'm in command of boyscouts not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soldiers. That was a huge let down, man. I hope they don't do this to the North Grove, I want to see something witty that makes sense.

TELLTALE BETTER COME THRGOUH ON THE NORTH GROVE.
I fought zombies trying to get there.

Nix on the north grove though. Either that will be a huge Deux ex machina that obliterates all our choices or a cliff-hanger for season 2, much like Clementines survival in the walking dead.

The traitor being the guy you didn't bring along seemed so obvious I really hoped that wasn't the case. I was pulling for some ending where it tured out that the mom was the traitor trying to save the family because she thought Rodrik would end up like Ethan. Up until the revelation, Royland and Duncan were both such cool guys who seemed to be 100 percent on my side.

My thoughts too on mom being the traitor since she has a motive. Kinda like Catelyn stark (in fact it seemed to me that the Forresters are like a repainted Stark, Gregor F=Eddard S
Elissa F=Catelyn S GaredTuttle=JonSnow

When traitor makes sence: When you chose a sentinel and followed his advises. It's like; Say We are building an outdoor toilet. We have a guy in charge and two cinstructors; One wants to use a cinderblocks other one bricks. Say our Guy in charge picks Cinder. The guy with bricks belives that this will ruin Outdoor toilet... he may even be right in his decidion to use bricks! So he will sabotage cinderblocks, because he belives and maybe even right about bricks.
Say our guy in charge learns about it and fires guy with bricks. Then it may go two ways: Cinderblocks toilet will actually crumble because of climate or soil... Brick guy was right. Or Cinder were actually a smart idea and yeah brick guy was a douche. Now just rephrase that with Brick guy never cought and his sabotage was sucess.

What I mean, Traitor does say that Ludd planning to kill Rodrick and others when exchange were about to happen. So he released Gryff and we only ended up loosing one of two protagonists... maybe even his other actions were actually helpfull.

When traitor makes no sence: When you deny sentinel and follow that other guy instructions... he still a traitor? Bull!!!
