I don't think you've done the right way. I remember it from Trailer (except interrogation).

Since Athena is still Rouge, I think Tales came first.

Since then I'm really confused with the timeline because the timelines were mixing up. I checked up on google and found this out.

And I don't think Tales came first. Jack (real) died from Borderlands 2 and he became ghost in Tales ( I wouldn't say 'ghost' and I would say it's in Rys's mind).

I would suggest, you should play Borderlands one, pre-sequel and 2. That's what you need to know about this.

To re-word why I think this is what it is

(Starting with Borderlands 2, thats the best place to start)

Borderlands 2: Sanctuaray is floating, Jack is dead.

TFTB: Jack is Dead, but we know nothing about Sancturary, Athena is still a bounty hunter

BL:TPS: Sanctuarary is floaring, Jack is Dead, Athena captured.
