Why Scooter?
What were they thinking?? That was really unnecessary and cliché.

Hopefully it doesn't stick to whatever they plan to do with the Borderlands series.

I think it's rather bold, considering he's a canon character. You would've thought he was protected by plot armor.

Agreed, but still... I just think that wasn't really needed at all, just added in as your typical unnecessary cliché. I would guess this is just a way to get more room for Ellis in the next release.

Not at all considering Tales from the Borderlands is canon to the plot of Borderlands. I mean it surprised me when it happened, but "plot armor" isn't really a thing with Tales. It is for something like Ramsay Snow in GoT (which is why I hate him being in it), but for Tales it's completely different when the game correlates with the entire franchises plot.

This is what makes me curious regarding it really. With TFTB Telltale have parodied and subverted a few things they've done with their other recent games which makes me wonder if Scooter's death will be permanent. The tone of TFTB is comedic for the most part in comparison to their other games which means it wouldn't surprise me if Scooter turned up alive in episode five with a suitable Scooter-esque explanation of how he survived. Scooter's also been a comic relief character for two games having a serious and dramatic death is slightly at odds with the character really.

Are you saying he staged the whole thing jsut to get Fionas attention?
Of course you don't but I do.

Yeah, like Roland.

I heard on reddit that this may have something to do with VA's health. I heard he got a stroke. And maybe after that, Gearbox wanted to give him some rest from voice acting. Scooter couldn't just disappear. So, TellTale made a nice death for the character. He sure died as a hero.

He did back in 2011 and was also possibly diagnosed from MS as a result. However it doesn't appear to have stopped him working since then. So unless things have got worse for him it doesn't seem like that he has let his health effect him that much.

There are some good explanations here giving reasons to his future. If the VA is sick, there is a good chance all what has been said is true, although I would lean more towards the variety and cheap emotions side, as developers tend to replace VA's all the time.

Nope, can't do that, they'd be better off to kill him and bring in a replacement.
The character not the VA.

Possibly with the replacement VA but Gearbox clearly use a lot of their own staff to voice characters in their games or at least siblings of the staff. So they potentially wouldn't replace someone in that situation.

did you guys forget? it's a conartist telling a story... absolutely everthing being told to the gunman could be made up... i think they made it a point to be like that in the 1st episode...

this is very inception like... getting a story from within a story... and it seems it's working judging from this thread... even with the story tellers letting everyone know the story within the story is fake...

Except it has been stated time and again that the New-U Stations aren't canon. Hence why Jack doesn't just respawn.

I personally think he's going to stay dead, and just have Ellie do all the Catch-a-Ride stuff in the future.

I personally WANT this to be true. After all, Rhys never saw Scooter die.

Well technically we didn't see him die, we just saw an explosion. And for those who have played the shooter borderlands games, there is no fall damage haha.
