No sound issue
I bought this game a couple weeks ago in hopes of playing it, but whenever I start the game there is no sound from the game or my computer. For example, if I play music through my computer and start the game up the sound just cuts out, even though the its still playing. I've tried messing with several sound settings, but with no results. This is the first game I've bought from Telltale Games and they're leaving a real ♥♥♥♥♥♥ first impression on me. In any case, please help.

so I popped on the game today and it worked like magic, unsure if maybe something I downloaded for video encoding somehow fixed this

I switched my audio settings to "default" and everything is ok. Windows 10 I dont understand you.

do that for the no sound issue, as for the cracking and pops, it's coming from your voice setting on stream. If your computer doesn't have a recording mic somewhere it will default to your speakers (weird right?) and that causes a feedback loop which is what is causing the crackling. Set your voice to a button instead of voice activated (I used the ~ key), and that stops the feed back loop.

I also removed all streaming options on my steam as I don't stream either. See if that solves your problem as well.

Woooow. So, like Takuun, I just tried turning the game on and it worked. Funny thing is, I don't even feel like playing it right now

The problem came back for some reason, however, I turned off my microphone and the sound worked. So yeah, problem solved. woo!

I had that happen to me for a sound device that had two devices in the Playback Devices control panel. It was for a device that could operate as a headset and as speakers. Disabling the microphone part of the headset made it switch to the speaker driver for me. Manually switching the default to the speaker driver also worked and stayed working whenever I used the device... until I actually needed the headset features again.
