How to change language manually?

I came back after a while to replay the game but suddenly the menus and subtitles are in german. There is no way to change this in game. My Steam is in english but Windows is in german. So how do I get everything in game back to english?

Same here ... I hate it when games do that ... I have English language setting despite living in Germany (and have a German windows) for a reason.

EDIT: and please no 'go to properties' ... I did that already, there is no language setting there.

Yeah, I got this problem too. Just wanted to start the game - everything in german. Since I know english, I'd prefer to play in that original language. But no option to switch language in the steam properties, and I also haven't found one ingame.

You may have to add US English locale, switch, then run the game. Then switch back when done. It's a pain but it should work. Silly move, devs.

By US locale, what do you mean? The "Download region" setting? I thought that putting steam in English (in the Interface) also applied to the games but it's not the case for TftB.

I think he means setting your windows to English instead.

And that was a really, really silly move.

Even switching the language and region of Windows to English doesn't seem to do the trick for me... Or do I have to redownload? :-/

Change "Language of non-Unicode programs" in Windows control panel settings to desired language. It's in "Regional and Language" options, under the "Advanced" tab.

I love it when developers look at a working mechanic in their games and go "right. Let's ♥♥♥♥ this up with a vengeance". No thank you, I'm not about to switch my windows settings in order to accommodate a game.

Very annoying to leave the option to change language out.
How a successfull company can make such an oversight and ignore comments here and in their own forum to just patch it in is just not understandable.

Thats really stupid. I have the same problem and im not going to change my system language for this total stupidity. I should have refunded the game right away when i still could.
