i can actually confirm that all telltale games were at one time able to be purchased on the IOS app store (i owned them all); until recently, they just finally took down Minecraft 1 & 2, Guardians of the Galaxy and Game of Thrones from the 'Purchased' section. So you can't even download the game anymore; not that it matters, though, as they won't run on the new OS. However, you are correct that the Batman games (1 & 2) and even The Wolf Among Us are still purchasable on the IOS App store as the new 'Telltale' team renewed the licenses to those games and even put out nice updates for all 3 games on IOS so you can play them on newer devices. The Walking Dead games (1, 2, 'Michonne' and 'a new frontier') are also still available for purchase and to play on the IOS app store as that series was purchased by the creator of TWD Robert Kirkmans company 'Skybound' (it was mainly purchased to save 'The Final Season' and get it completed; and thankfully so). The games are still playable today, though, unfortunately they have not yet received updates like the Batman/TWAU games did.
Final point, Tales from the Borderland is still listed under my 'purchased' list AND you can still buy it on the app store as we speak (episodes can still be downloaded; i tested this just yesterday...edit: just re-checked and they took the game down from being able to purchase now; most likely due to it not being compatible with the new OS, but it's still showing in my 'purchased' section and i can still download episodes)...and it states 2K is the developer which means they clearly bought the rights to the game (also obvious since they re-released the game on consoles and PC). So that's why i raise the question and beg 2k to please not forget about the IOS version and give it some love and do an update that will not only make it playable on the new OS/IOS 14.5 but also so it fits on newer ipad screens properly and maybe even do some graphical enhancements/bug fixes. The fact that they've kept the game alive in the app store all this time tells me they still care about the customers who initially bought it and hoping they even do have plans to re-release on IOS. the games already there (episodes 1-5 and all); they just need to put a dev(s) on the job to update it. With the IOS boom in gaming recently and the popularity of Borderlands/people's love of TFTB, more people will continue to buy. So i don't feel this is just for the fans, but also a solid business decision.
I want to add as well, this is easily my favorite Telltale game of all-time; and i'm not alone on that. Sure TWD is a fantastic gem of a game that i love as well, but TFTB combined the talent of Telltale with the genius of Borderlands creator (who had a huge voice in the games development). This is when Telltale was literally firing on all cylinders. TFTB is a masterpiece and should be kept around for as long as possible.
