Should I play Borderlands 1/2/3 before this?
I do own Borderlands 2, but I don't really love it. I've heard this is one of the best Telltale games, and I was thinking if it's necessary to play the previous games before this one.

If you want a storyline order of events:

Borderlands 1 then its DLC
Borderlands Pre Sequel + Claptastic Voyage DlC
Borderlands 2 + every DLC except Commander Lilith
Tales from the Borderlands
Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary
Borderlands 3 then its DLC

Its a fun ride on its own, you just won't really know who half of thr characters are that aren't introduced in this title.

You missed one ~ Borderlands The Pre-Sequel (BL:TPS aka TPS was voted second in series quality after BL2). If it becomes of interest for you, the "real world" order of the five games is essentially ~~~~ BL1 > TPS > BL2 > TOTB > BL3 Have fun :steamhappy: PS From our caveat emptor dept "Beware - TOTB wasn't developed by Gearbox Games and plays very differently - more similar to other games developed by Telltale Games"

Wrong order.
Borderlands 1 and it's DLC's. Borderlands 2 up till you have only Commander Lilith left, then play Pre-Sequel, now you can play Tales from the Borderlands, Commander Lilith after it and Borderlands 3.

That is correct, technically I should have said chronological order but that order makes the most sense plot wise with how it is laid out

Pre-Sequel gives straight spoilers to the ending of BL2.

Yeah totally forgot about that, and most people wouldn't really understand what the hell was going on in the intro either, like why is there suddenly a flying city.

Play borderlands 2 and you will understand some refrences. dont play its dlc because it spoils some of this game. Play borderlands 3 after to see how Gearbox ruins the characters you grew to love in Tales from the borderlands

Hmmm, I played BL2 + all DLCs a lot and never felt spoiled on TFTB.
What is spoiled exactly (with spoiler tag) ?
