Canon Ending? [Borderlands 3 Spoilers]

Been a while since I played this game, but my ending was Handsome Jack dead for good, and Rhys and Fiona going through the portal in the end together, if i recall correctly.

Obviously that can't be canon since Rhys has taken over and rebuilt Atlas in Borderlands 3.

Finished both TFTB and BL3 recently and honestly it doesn't matter which ending you get. Rhys will become Atlas CEO anyway. He grabs the papers of Atlas before they destroy the vault monster and open the vault so basicaly all endings are canon... not that it matters in BL3 in any way. spoiler for BL3 aheadEven after you answer the question from Rhys in BL3 if you like his mustache and the text says that Rhys will remember that just like in TFTB, nothing happens at all, you don't even get to hear from him fro the rest of the game. I gues it was just an easter agg-ish callout to TFTB, real shame tho.

We don't know what happend in the vault at the end in TFTBL as of now, that is the ending you get no matter what, to me it seems like it might be alluding to a dlc for BL3 there is a picture of sasha on Rhys desk and Zer0 talks about how they can't find "them" (Fiona and Sasha most likely) because they don't want to be found
It's a pretty big loose end and I don't really see how they can leave it hanging.

Yeah, I doubt we'll get more than that from 2K, even now. Shame, but nothing can be done I suppose. Unless they have some Tales-centric DLC plan for BL3 in the future.
