Jeff Lupetin?
Out of curiousity, where does Jeff Lupetin (Gillian Seed from Snatcher's Voice Actor) come into play in this new version? I was almost thinking he was going to be the voice of Decker originally, but I realize that's not the case. Is it part of the main story or is it a hidden Easter Egg? I'm on Chapter 4, just starting the "Media" arc.

You'll hear him in Chapter 5 and potentially in the post-game bonus chapter called Endless Christmas.

Thanks! Was paranoid I might've missed him. Super cool that you guys got him.

Was he the receptionist? Otherwise I guess I didn't do my due dilligence exploring the rest of the areas in Chapter 5.

Yeah, he's the Receptionist.

In Endless Christmas, he's the Cleaner ROM.

Oh so wait, they didn't randomly have a Gillian Seed cameo in the game? Even after he made that little audio clip? Damn. What a shame.

I also thought there'd be some kind of Gillian cameo... like in Pub Crawl or something, but I'm guessing they were worried about copyright and/or getting a blessing from Konami since they're a special kind of jerks nowadays.

I honestly thought he was going to play Dekker or something at first. It's unfortunate they couldn't even sneak in a "Neo Kobe" reference or something for him to say. Ahwell.

Yeah, copyright issues would make sense. At least Plato's Cavern/Outer Haven got referenced though.

I can see why you think Lupetin could have voiced Dekker, I can picture it.

Where? I never played Snatcher but most major post-NES MGS titles. I can't recall any of this in ROM. But I haven't finished 2064 yet.

Valhalla has some of that too. If I think about it is probably no accident that one of the more major characters in that game is named Gillian. I wouldn't have known before. But I did get some of the MGS references in that one.

I actually played one of the NES games, "Snake's Revenge", and liked it a good deal, although I remember little details and probably didn't understadn much of it back then anyway.

I figured the "Outer Haven" + Wolf Mask thing was a Kojima/Snatcher reference.

Obviously, but I haven't been to Endless Christmas yet, and I don't remember anything of it in the intro.

Outer Haven is the bar where you need a costume (mask) to enter, Plato's Cavern is the very hush hush black market store where you get the mask to enter Outer Haven.

Regarding the Plato's Cavern reference in ROM, if you examine the Pub Crawl sign outside the building in Endless Christmas, you get a comment on how there's a store that also has black market dealings and how people walk out with island masks.

That said, definitely recommending SNATCHER if you haven't played it yet.

You can very briefly see an ad for Outer Haven with the wolfman on the screen, before it switches to the news about ROMs.
