Is there a setting I can change, that I missed or misunderstood? Something to make my survivor move in the direction he is facing when I press w?
Thanks so much for your advice. It's a neurological issue, so I'll just switch to a different brain.
i believe that is hard coded in the game so there is no option to change it or to remap keys to make that work. However if i can make a sugesstion have you tried playing with a controller?
It will still work the same way yet you can push both sticks in the same direction so that the player movement and looking direction syncs up all the time.
essentially you would just have to get used to pushing both sticks in sync with which ever direction you wish to be in, with what you described i do not know if this would actually help but is the only thing i can think of as a "hot fix"
edit: fixed spelling errors
