Grandia 2 was pretty epic. Played it to death on the Dreamcast.

i had it on ps2, really liked how the combat worked compared to other turn based games at the time.

customizing and theming each hero you got was fun too plus the way you spent the resources on upgrading. I remember the best farm was those yetis in the snow area. Plus the way the circular arena worked and the special moves were cool.
very fun game. Decent enough story too. Shame the dub was one of the worst things ever.
