I validated the game files and it stopped.
Try with that, hope it works.
you can try going into the settings and forcing the game to run at 30 FPS to see if that helps prevent the crashes.
For instance, I start my NVIDIA App > Graphics > grandia2.exe > Max Frame Rate and set to 30 FPS
You may have to manually add the program if it doesn't appear in the list, though:
NVIDIA App > Graphics > *click 3 vertical dots above program list* > Add a program > D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Grandia II Anniversary Edition > click on grandia2 > Open
D: drive is where my install is, yours is probably on C: by default
If you don't have NVIDIA, I can't help ya. But good luck with it.
I have a copy of the grandia/grandia 2 hd collection on switch so I ended up playing that version instead and only had one crash (ironically though, it was on one of the last boss battles right before the boss gauntlet which was rough) in around 9 hours of play time on the physical edition.
As a result, I didn't end up trying out these fixes but im glad to know it may be possible to play the steam version without constant crashes!
