How do I set my x360 gamepad as default controller in windows 10?
As topic says, I been told this is why it doesn't work in Grandia 2, which is pretty shocking its the first game ever that didn't reconize the controller right off. I mean in the config window the controller works, but once I actually go in the game it doesn't work anymore. I been told that it needs to be set as the default for older games, but I don'tknow where that is in windows 10, any help here?

Click Start, click Run, type joy.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK. In the Game Controllers window, click XNA Gamepad and then click advanced, select default for older games...

does that work for you? please let me know if it does

It worked thanks. Fixed the problem with the game not seeing the controller. For me though it said x360 for windows insted of xna, but it still worked.

Cool :) I should have clarified... XNA is a kinda generic term https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_XNA glad it worked though :) I actually have had issues in the past where my flight rudder was automatic default... so I'm hoping this will finally resolve that for me too \o/

One of the settings in Steam's Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings fixed it for me, but I'm not sure which.

This works! I tried this on my bluetooth-connected Xbox One controller, not expecting much, but it actually worked! Thank you.

Sorry to necro, I tried doing this as well and at one time it worked, but now it just keeps resetting itself to none. It will not stay set to the controller.
