wasn't it fully voiced?
It's been ages since i played it last time, but I still get the feeling, that the game was fully voiced on the original PC port.

Or is my memory wrong?

I don't know about the original PC port, but since this is based on the Dreamcast release, I can definitively say that it wasn't fully voiced, though there were many sections that were voiced.

It wasn't fully voiced on the Dreamcast.

I know it wasn't fully voiced on the PS2, can't really say anything for the original PC port since I never played it.

The PC port is not fully voice acted.

thanks for the answers

i asked a few friends too and it was just my imagination. Played it so often, that i could voice it in my head. XD

There seem to be a decent amount of people here who had the same impression, including me. I have no idea why this game's playing tricks on so many people's memory.

I think it's because of the text progression during non-voiced scenes. At times I felt those were scenes I heard voices in when I played back in high school. But upon looking them up, they weren't. So I feel like the trick on my mind is the text speed during important scenes, which usually do lead into voiced scenes eventually.
Makes you wonder if you could ever crowdsource a fan-made mod to get the original voice actors to voice all the lines. The millions upon millions you'd probably need for that now...but it would be worth it.

Half of them went union which pretty much makes it impossible (union rules prevent the mixing of union and non-union VAs on top of vastly increasing fees.) Back when this game came out, voice acting was dirt cheap since there was no real VA union. Now that's no longer the case.

limited space on Dream cast disk, it wasn't fully voiced, if u played Tale series they were same way got cut scenes, most ingame or town parts were all silent.

Probably there is more voice acting in Japanese, similiar to the Tales games.

Nope. Partial dubs were the norm back then, no matter the language. Also that hasn't applied to Tales games since the PS2.

Even so, this game is where I first heard Hynden Walch, AKA Princess Bubblegum and Starfire, so I am really happy to revisit it. Millenia is Jodi Benson, Princess Ariel herself!

Memory was wrong. Even the PC port only had small sections voiced.

I already remembered that i was wrong^^

but it is still funny, after a complete walkthrough (even beat my own besttime XD) i found several places where it should have sound.

Best place i know is in the birthplace of the gods, when meeting with elmo and Ryudo holds its speech to everyone. There are 15 seconds, around 3-4 textboxes (which auto-forward) without voice.

I searched an old savegame and installed the original pc-version (now i know how good the new textures are...) and played to the same place and it was excatly the same.

So I believe that it was a bug or something like that, that was originaly in it and was also ported. XD
