Could anyone explain what the stats mean?
Particularly what AGI, MAG, and MEN entail?

I'm guessing it's dodging, magic attack, and magic defense?

-normal stats, perminent traits-
AGI = this affects how often your character gets to act, how fast they move on the IP Bar
MAG = Magic effectiveness
MEN = Magic Defence
SPD = Running speed and how far they can run in battle
STR = Physical Attack
VIT = Physical Defense

-battle stats, can be changed by moves and magic-
MOV = variable of SPD
ATK = variable of STR, (also possible MAG)
DEF = variable of VIT (and possibly MEN)
ACT = variable of AGI

SPD also increases your chance to evade (the game calls this "Sway") enemy physical attacks.

MEN also increases the Effect of Healing Magic
A Level 56 Elena with Men+50 and Watermagic boosted by 100% can heal ~4k with an Allhealer. Without the Men+50 she just heals ~3.4k

Also if I'm not wrong ATK and DEF doesn't have anything to do with MAG and MEN. But I might test it later. Is pretty easy to see if it does or not. Just unequip your weapon and use a burn spell on an enemy after you did it with your weapon on.

I've seen no evidence from playtesting to believe that ATK/DEF affect spellpower.

Speaking of stats and how they affect battles, is anyone aware of a general mechanics guide for this game?

Another reason they really need to include a manual. About a third of the spells and items in the game affect these attributes, but you need to make educated guesses for most of them because they're never explained in game.

Even just a text manual would be great.

Support spells are useless in this game anyway, it's just +1, waste of turn, while you can just kill everything with one proper offensive spell or spam ultra moves against bosses.

Wrong. The buff spells work expotentially. While a +1 feels questionable, a +5 is god tier.

Try casting them a few times. The debuffs can literally render bosses unable to move. They're super OP.

Try Runner +5. Sway, Sway, Sway, Sway

every level of ATK and DEF is about 10% of your STR and VIT stats, MOV and ACT seem to be 20% of your SPD and AGI stats. ATK and DEF have no effect on magical attacks however (which are calculated off the MAG/MEN stat). stacking stat boosts are actually significantly beneficial, as unless the boss can throw out a constant stream of magical attacks, they often become unable to attack/inflict damage normally.
