How does this compare to the PS2 and DC versions?
How does this version compare to the Playstation 2 and Dreamcast versions?
I've heard the DC is/was considered the best, and the PS2 is a washed out, buggy port.

So... any info would be helpful.

Not as buggy as the PS2 version, but still has a few bugs. Also has some desynchronizing of audio and video in longer cutscenes. If you can dodge the bugs, it's debatable with DC version thanks to Hard mode; if you don't care about hard mode and/or can't avoid the bugs, the DC version is still best.

I haven't played the DC or PS2 versions before, but I can say on my PC that I assembled back in 2012 I have not encountered any desync issues with audio or video. I watched the alternate intro of the PS2 version of Youtube and thought it pretty neat but this version seems to share more in common with the DC version.

I'm doing hard mode and I've seen experienced Grandia II players state they have no problem running through the whole game, but I have had issues with a few bosses but it only resulted in me grinding for 10 minutes and trying again. This may just be due to my inexperience with the game.

Haven't played on PS2 or PC but I have it on Dreamcast, played it for the first time last year. Have to say that if the PC has a hardmode option that is really great. As good as the DC game was it was too easy, once you had a grasp on the combat system you could pretty much cruise through every single battle in the game, with no difficulty.

I felt that if anything the game being too easy towards the 2nd half was the only real weak point of the game.

Hard Mode is still mostly cruise control for a veteran player. I think I've had to use 1 Yomi's Elixir the entire game so far.

That said, I still prefer the Dreamcast version since, while this version is arguably the best of the ports, the original doesn't have any of the flaws...
