Spanish translation of "cooldown" is completely wrong and makes a lot of confusion

So the word "cooldown" present in lot of item descriptions is wrongly translated to Spanish, its translated as "enfriamiento" and that in English means cooling or freezing, not cooldown, so I was wondering wtf does this mean, maybe there is mobs that froze you and this reduces the time to get unfrozed, and why armors with it are so considerably more expensive that armors that give protection.

So finally I found the answer, and that this is just a wrong translation,and it has nothing to do with getting frozen, I don't know who translated this, but seems they used Google Translate or something worse....

It should be translated as "reutilizacion de hechizo" or just "reutilizacion" or "reduccion de tiempo".

Does it still say reduction? Freezing reduction as in the ability being frozen for less time still makes sense.

Maybe it makes sense in English, but it absolutely makes only confusion in Spanish.

it translates as "Spell cooldown", "Hechizo" means "spell" and reutilizacion means "reuse" or "
reutilization", that are the words that several MMOs use in descriptions of these things, like in WoW for example.

Just out of curiosity, what would you call something that an overheated engine does as it cools down? Honestly curious.

Or what would the word be for something cooling off before using it again?

In Spanish "overheated" will be like "sobrecalentado/a" and "cools down" will be "enfriar", (the verb), "enfriarse", "enfria", "enfrie", or "leave it to cool down" will be "dejar que se enfrie/enfria" depends on context, but these words have to do with tempetature not with spell cooldowns.

But if 2 words are used like "magic/spell cooldown" they will be translated as "tiempo de reutilización de magia/hechizo", and these has nohing to do with temperature like previous.

Sorry english doesnt always make sense. Some game designer decided it would be called cooldown to wait for abilities to reset years ago.

The term "cooldown" literally originates from the usage in physical exercise: "Time for a cooldown workout." That is, lessening the intensity of effort before kicking up the intensity of the next workout. Etymologically speaking, I don't know how that translates to Spanish in colloquial context, but I imagine there must be a shorthand term in Spanish for "reset," like "reutilizacion" yes?

Of course, that may be getting a little too far into it... xD Either way, small team, rough localization, that's the way it is for now.
