Substance Designer 5

Weird seam on border when using tile generator and transform 2D node :(
I am currently working on creating my own metal floor material. However, when I use tile generator to tile the map or transform 2D node to resize the map, then seam comes out.

The problem I can confirm is about transform and tile generator node.
I tried to change the map from 8bit to 16 bit and no luck.
It is like when tiling and resizing, there is a dark grey line around the edge of input image.
I don't know how to avoid it.
I tried to tile using the tile option inside shape generator, however, it doesn't give you any variation like tile generator does. So the texture looks way too procedural, not natural.

Hi,

This is an issue with the filtering mode that was introduced in Substance Engine 5 for fx-maps. Go to C:\Program Files\Allegorithmic\Substance Designer\5\resources\packages and locate the tile_generator. Make a copy of the .sbs in a new location. Now you can open the copied sbs and edit it.

Go to the FX-Map, right-click and choose Edit-FX map. Then on the quadrant node, change the Input image filtering to Bilinear instead of Bilinear + Mipmaps.

Cheers,

wes

Thanks for this. Solved my issue a decade later. The setting is now visible in the node, I just needed to know the culprit. Thanks!!!!
