I thought steam changed it so launching software doesn't count playtime?

OP, Run the .exe out of steam if you want it to not display. Its pretty simple. You just dont want to launch it through steam. Since launching from steam is what tracks the hours. Doing it outside steam doesnt.

This means do not use the actual shortcut that is created when you install games. You need to find the actual .exe in its folder in the steam folder to have this happen. You can create a shortcut to that if you want a easy way to access it.

Why do you care why others care about it? The answer will apply to any other game since the answer will be roughly the same.

+1, this is how it worked for me with lossless scaling

It messes up the stats. This is especially bad when Steam is recommending other games and thinks that I must want more things like this since I ran it for 80 hours last week and only played Iron Deathblade 2 for 12 hours. But it also messes up the stats of my friends when they look to see what games their friends are playing.

I assume they must've pushed an update or something, because doing this for me begins to load the app, but then stops before I get in, closes itself and then reloads thru steam

Mark it as Private and the game won't show up in your library at all to other users.
