Missing Executable Error - OFFICIAL THREAD

EDIT: This post originally addressed a specific issue with an old release of our installer which has since been resolved. If you are currently receiving the Missing Executable error, follow the instructions in this guide to troubleshoot the issue.

As a number of you have encountered, there is currently was an issue with our installer package which causes a Missing Executable error for some users when attempting to launch Movie Studio 13 Platinum - Steam Powered. We are aware of the issue, and it is a high priority for our development team. Thanks for bringing the issue to our attention; user feedback helps us to improve our products.

UPDATE:
A revised installer has now been posted. If you're seeing the Missing Executable error, please follow the steps below.

• Uninstall Movie Studio 13 Platinum through the Steam Library (Delete Local Content)
  
• Restart your computer
  
• Reinstall Movie Studio 13 Platinum through the Steam Library

The download should be around 500MB. If it's not, let us know in this thread. Also let us know if you still see the error after following the above steps.

NOTE: If you aren't receiving this specific error, you don't need to take any action.

UPDATE 2:

I have the exact same problem and nothing I've done has helped to fix it.

I am running Windows 10 32 bit (x86). Is that compatible with this version of Sony Movie Studio. A lot of the software files including the installer seem to be x64.

Try install other AMD video driver for OpenCL. ( amdocl64.dll? )

is part of the AMD video driver .
check your AMD video driver installation , or install the lastest driver from AMD .
i have never seen your error message , and i have AMD with Windows 10 Creator Edition .

i had. i wasnt completely up to date on my drivers, but even after updating them, it still didnt work. holding ctrl+shift while booting the program prompted me with a different type of error and asked if i wanted to delete all cached data. i checked yes and its working now.
i think i know exactly what caused it from what someone had suggested earlier.

he said there is an explorer file that searches for all old projects and when it cant find them, it gives an error similar to the one i have,
I had deleted a folder that held a lot of my old projects that i wasnt working on anymore. after that, this problem did occur.

oh...whale then...i still owe you a beer still. lol thanks for that fix. i was pretty close to spending some money on another program. i realized i didnt have your name when i was halfway through typing and didnt want to back out to check and lose everything i had already typed.

Thanks very much for this guide, although the second attempt with the normal Steam install worked for me following a recent motherboard and CPU upgrade.
