VEGAS Movie Studio 13 Platinum - Steam Powered

Already Running (File I/O surrogate (not visible))
Ok, I just closed the program a few minutes ago. Tried to startup the program, got stuck on the loading screen "making a I/O file" or something like that so I restarted Steam. As soon as I login, Steam tells me that I am In-App and when I try to startup the program, I get a message that tells me that the program is already running. When I check the Task Manager, it tells me that Movie Studio 13 Platinum is not running. Also, I tried to uninstall the program, but it won't let me because I would have to close it. Please help me!

Try restarting your computer yet?

Yeah I did, and nothing.

Try un-installing and re-installing it (Movie Studio 13 Platinum).
If it's still not working, then I'm not sure what else to suggest other than to contact Sony Support.
Good luck.

I tried to uninstall it, but I was stopped with a message that said I would have to close "File I/O surrogate (not visible)" in order to continue. I pulled up the Task Manager and found this under Details. I tried to end the process, but no success.

Strange. It could be a restrictive Windows setting.
Close your Steam and then set Steam, and possibly the Movie Studio's executables, to run with Windows Administrator level privilages, then try again and see if that makes any difference.

It is strange. This wouldn't be the first time that it has happened to me. I do not recall what I did last time to fix this, but here are a few things I have learned from it: I uninstalled Steam, reinstalled Steam, logged in, still there. It is hard to log off the account because I need to shut down the program (even though I do not know how).

Anyway, I tried what you suggested, nothing worked.

Also: I can play my games, I just cannot startup Movie Studios 13

*added

I just un-installed Steam, restarted my computer, reinstalled Steam, I was not "In-App". I was able to attempt to launch it, but it crashed before doing anything else. Later, I logged back in, and now it is telling me that I am still "In-App".

I just want to reverse some Angry Grandpa videos... :(

I have a similar issue when they released the Build 957 update last week. Nothing I did could get it to work. I went to Sony's site to get a trial from them and they are only on Build 955 and that works just fine. There seems to be some issue with the update.

If you're installing to a hard-drive that's not the main default one (usually the C: drive), then un-install it and reinstall to a location on your C: drive instead, as I seem to recall that installing it Movie Studio 13 to a different hard-drive may cause it to not work. Also, check the folder location of where it's installed and make sure the properties of it (right-click and Properties, you can check the settings of a folder or files that way) allow Windows to both read and write.

Good luck.
