Animating text doesn't respect anchor point
Video Explanation
https://youtu.be/mLchaaTq_30
Video updated as of 23 June 2019 using Vegas Pro 14. Problem still exists in MS13.

Temporary Workaround
Use animated masks to uncover the text over time with "hold" keyframes to achieve the same effect as what animating the text itself would achieve.

You dev's have been really good and fast at replying to questions, why has it changed all of a sudden? xD

What is your location set to? If you want it in the very top left corner... set anchor to top left and have 0.00,1.00 as location.

I do not want the text in the corner, If you look at the image linked the text should be inside that grey box (aka respecting the anchor point) but it isn't (This only happens when using keyframes to animated the text, aka adding/changing the text over time).
The text obeys the anchor point for the one Keyframe that the text changes, then as soon as it enters the next frame on from the keyframe, it goes back to the center anchorpoint
Also I do not have any Event pan/crop keyframes set if you were wondering
Hope this explains a bit more :)

ps. Woah spontainious block of text, sorry xD

I'm happy to chime in when I have feedback to offer, but I think it's better for the community if users interact with each other. Keep in mind that this is a community forum, not a direct message to the development team.

Regarding your original post, if you're animating the text that "grey box" isn't meant to move along with it in real time. It's meant as a reference for where the text was or will be, not necessarily where it is, and its position is tied to the keyframing timeline, not the main timeline.

{LINK REMOVED} You'll probably need to download the GIF in order to view it.

xD oh sorry, Yeah I will remember that.
Also I'm not animating the Location, I am animating the text itself (at the top, where you type stuff in...)
I'll try to record it since this is seeming to be really hard to explain :P

I'm uploading a *hopefully* helpful video :3

Ahhh, I see now. That does look odd, and I'm seeing a similar behavior on my system. I'll have to do some further digging on this and get back to you. Thanks for bringing it up! The clear explanation is very helpful.

Phew, that is the best thing I've heard all day, good luck finding a workaround / fixing the weirdness :D

It's been a week already, and no news...
I don't mind if it's "We still have no idea at all" just some news would be ok :)

So I just want to ressurect this as MAGIX has now done a thing and this bug is still around, so I'm still looking for a fix.
Although my voice is a lot nicer to listen to now...

Hey I'm here to not only revive this but because I have the same issue going for me as well. I see its been a couple years so I hope this issue has been fixed for you, maybe you might have a solution? If not we gotta figure this out...
Revvilo Jan 12, 2018 @ 5:46pm
Yeah... I haven't heard anything back nor fixed it. I think in order to get it further investigated we'd need to report it on their forum thing for MSP 13.
Thing is I think magix has released a few more versions since, so I don't know if they'd even be interested in fixing it... but it'd be worth a try.
