Editing/Outputting to 4k?
I know it supports 4k, but it doesn't seem to really support 4k, I'm getting some like frame doubling, where one frame is still around when there's movement on screen. My footage is 4k gameplay at 30fps, but there's no actual option for 30fps in the sony XCDV whats it codec.

Any ideas what I can do to fix this? Or do I just need to pay for a month of premier?

Is that motion blur or something else?

My original footage is naturally free of any issues like that.

The first thing you should do before editing your videos on this editing software is to disable resample.

If you have multiple videos you gonna have to select all of them and then disable resample for all of them.

Resample in most cases creates that ghost frame effect you just shown in that picture.

Not to mention that it can mess up even cleanest quality videos and blur them too.

I'll try that, I think I figured it out, went to 60fps in a different codec. Elimited the bluring/frame doubling in a small sample clip anyways.

Yea, you should. Vegas Pro owners (which even have script support that movie studio doesn't have) made scripts so they can disable resample with single click, it's that bad resample.

I have no idea in what cases you can use resample for but for most cases it should be disabled by default.

Every single tutorial I ever watched said to disable resample first, even when they aren't talking about that function specifically.

PS I heard that on 14 versions resample is better but I don't know myself.

I do have a new issue however, the rendering process just stopped at 21%, it would still count down, but CPU and GPU utilization was at nothing.

Don't know about that. Only advice I can give you is to try restart program and pray it doesn't happen again.

Disabled Resampling appears to have made the sony codec not screw up my video thanks. Though I'm still going to try the other one at 60fps with no resample and see if the output is better

Hehe you gonna find yourself doing tests alot.

Sometimes I wish they didn't removed some stuff that can be find only in vegas pro. It makes sometimes difficult to iron out any problems.

Especially masking, need to do some trickery with greenscreens to mask in Platinum 13

The non Sony codec would take an enternity to render out, so I suppose I'll stick with the sony codec, trying 59 fps atm. Not sure if it really looks any better, but I can't see it looking worse. Capturing/Editing/Rendering 4k footage is such a pain, it's no wonder there's not many true 4k gameplay videos

Ugh, I actually encountered new problem recentely and no software can fix that one.

Youtube's reencoding. I usually record on 1080p and when I recorded one gameplay with some fast motion (specially if game has horrible pop in) on youtube it would present itself is blur artifacts while on original video it's much more clear.

Video such as that needs more bitrate desperately or at very least slower reencoding for better quality if nothing else.

Don't know what would be if it was 4K encoding I only know that on higher resolutions it allows more bitrate.

I think it's best to render to 4k instead of 1080p even if your footage is native 1080p, ends up looking a bit better when youtube downscales it

59fps causes some stuttering, 29fps was fine, Resampling off, think I've fixed my current issues.
