do you get some error codes or crash logs?
Regards
Your VEGAS team
while Vegas is launching .
( do not hesitate , or Vegas will Miss all of your key presses
and the pop up message box will not appear )
a pop up message box will appear , choose to reset everything .
this will rebuilt the Vegas registry enrtries back to default .
( the above pop up box will appear before the usual Vegas splash screen )
guessing you have Nvidia video card ?
some forum posts have mentoined newest video drivers could be the issue .
not saying you should install a previous release Nvidia driver , but keep it in mind .
some posts have said they went into window's Device Manager and disabled
Niviia GPU . then Vegas launched just fine , by using directx Software
Reference driver .
the other issues might be GDI32 library that is part of the driver set .
the newer GID32 could be the problem . the only way to get a previous
GDI32 library is to install a previous video card driver .
first : have Steam Client Un-install MS13P
next ,
look in windows Control Panel-->Un-install screen ,
and manually look for Vegas\MS13P .
Have contral panel Un-install MS13P .
now ,
have Steam Client re-downlaod and install MS13P .
hopefully , it all works again .
An error occurred while updating VEGAS Movie Studio 13 Platinum - Steam Powered (missing executable) :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MovieStudioPlatinum130\Movie Studio Platinum 13.0\MovieStudioPlatinum130.exe
I have tried all the support solutions but nothing fixed it, steam wont offer me a refund so what am i suppossed to do now ?
1. do the two un-installs as mentioned above ( this MUST be done )
2. next , manually look for all "Magix" , "Vegas" "Movie Studio" , "Sony" folders
starting in "Program Files" "Program Files (x86)" , "Program Data" , "Users"
manually grind deep , looking in all sub-folders of that .
this could take a while , if first time digging .
( assuming MS13P is your only Magix product )
and delete the above folders
"Magix" , "Vegas" , "Movie Studio" , "Sony" , will be found in multiple sub-folders .
3. now have Steam Client re-download and install agian . and hope .
( i have Never touched the registry for Vegas\Magix products )
If the above still doesn't work , then i am out of ideas .
you say it crashes and doen't hang on GPU nor ASIO during initialization .
i am out of ideas .
Let's try performing a clean uninstall and then installing the software onto your system's Hidden Administrator Account.
Here are the instructions on how to perform a clean uninstall. It would be advisable to create a system restore point or to create a backup of your registry in case you make any mistakes during the clean uninstall process.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/322756/how-to-back-up-and-restore-the-registry-in-windows
1) Before doing a Clean Reinstall, it is important to do the following:
⦁ All audio and video effects chains and presets will be erased, so if you need to make a back up of your presets please download our Preset Manager program. For more information about backing up presets: ⦁ How to back up and restore audio presets | ⦁ How to backup and restore video presets
⦁ Safely disconnect any external USB or Firewire devices like hard-drives or dongles.
⦁ Temporarily turn off ALL anti-virus and security services. These applications have been known to interfere with software installation and registration.
2) Start the process of removing the program(s). Right Click on the Windows Flag and select Programs and Features. Now find and uninstall your Sony Creative Software application(s). For example, ACID, Catalyst products, DVD Architect, Movie Studio, Sound Forge, SpectraLayers, and Vegas.
3) Once uninstalled, delete the following folders, if they're present on the machine. If not, please continue with the instructions. Do not delete these entire folders if you have other Sony applications installed. Only delete the folder for the VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum 13
⦁ C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum 13
4) WARNING: The next step will require you to delete Windows Registry Keys. The Registry is a very sensitive area to work in. If you are not comfortable with advanced configuration and system changes, ask an administrator to help you with this. Related Topics: How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
Next, open the Registry Editor. Press Windows Key + Q and type REGEDIT in the 'Start Search' box. Press enter on your keyboard.
In the Registry Editor, locate and delete the application folder found within the following registry entries
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Creative Software
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\Sony Creative Software
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MAGIX\
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\MAGIX
(Depending on which product and version you have installed, you may see one or more of these entries. If you do not see all of these, that is normal. Delete those which you do find.)
Close the Registry Editor.
5) After removing the previous items you will need to reinstall all of your MAGIX software once more. Let's reinstall your software onto the system's Hidden Administrator Account.
Windows comes with a hidden administrator account which must first be enabled. To do so:
1. Type "Command Prompt" into Windows search or Cortana
2. right-click on the Command Prompt result that appears and choose "Run as administrator"
3. After the command prompt opens, type: net user administrator /active:yes
4. Double check to make sure the command is entered correctly and hit Enter on your keyboard.
5. After running this command, the prompt will respond with: command completed successfully
6. Go back to the Windows desktop , hit CTRL+ALT+DEL select Switch User and select the Administrator profile.
7. Install and activate your Magix Creative Software applications onto this profile.
Deleting the ' igdlh64.inf_amd64_250db833a1cd577e ' folder in the driver repository will fix the issue, although you will have to give yourself permission to do this which I had to look up how to do
