VEGAS Movie Studio 13 Platinum - Steam Powered

Noob here with questions about video rotating.
I'll just skip right to the point and try to be as clear as possible.

For my filming setup, I have to position my DSLR on my tripod in a certain way (in front of me, downwards, lens pointing directly at my desk) because my area is entirely too small to put my tripod anywhere else. So because of the way my camera is facing, it records the video flipped. For example, imagine if you were to take a picture of something with your DSLR, only you were holding the camera completely upside down. That's the result of my video - it's upside down.

So my question...I know how to rotate certain parts/clips of your video in Movie Studio 13 Platinum, but how in the world would you rotate the ENTIRE video?

If any part of this was confusing - which it most likely was - please don't hesitate to ask me for clarification! Thanks so much.

well, you use the track animation option to the left and flip the image upside down like you want it.

it is on the left of your video timeline, there should be something called track motion or smth like that. there you move the circle in the middle to rotate the video.

MS13P rotation is very verstile .
1. Orientation is different then the "Rotation set of boxes"

example :
i could use the Orientation box to rotate the video +90 degrees ( center pivot ) .

Next , assuming the project is 1920 x 1080 , i can go into the
"Rotation set of boxes" and set X offext to - 960 ,and set Y offset to -540 .
That just place a tiny circle at the lower left corner , of the White work space area .

Now
when i use the "Rotation box's Angle" up\down arrows , the video will rotatete\Pivot
from it's Lower Left Corner , while within the "frame work" of the previous
Orientation of +90 degrees.

The example here , will cause the video to rotate "about a point" that is to the Left
of the video .
It's like someone walking on an arc where a post ( that Circle ) is to your Left .
Kind of like moving the point of rotation from Local Object Space( centered ) , to World Space .

complex rotations can be perforned in MS13P , but only on the XY plane .
I really appreciate the effort you put into your messages, but don't you think that keeping it simple and short would be better?

I mean this is a beginner editing software after all, and keeping it short would be better to understand, you can experiment with the numbers later on.

If you want to keep on doing this, that's completely fine, just stating my unwanted opinion <3

I agree with you, haha. I'm not an expert with this stuff and how you taught me to do it works just fine for now!!

Let's keep the Bigger picture in focus ,...
This is a forum of information .
Someone may , later , search the forum about "Rotation" .
They might be in need of more info . Our Questions should
spawn results with answers that benifit the now and later ( when
we arn't here ) .
for Novice and Advanced seekers a like .
Who wants to search a forum , only to find an argumentive discussion ? useless .

you two can now go flame each other , i will have nothing to do with you .

ask , ye shall receive .

The simplest way to do this is to right-click the video clip(s) in the 'Project Media' section and select rotate clockwise/counterclockwise.
