but I'm still torn between if the 3d graphics are an improvement or not...
The graphics and writing/humor seem to be exactly from Magicka 2. The Demo game play feels a bit loose and the enemies feel clunky.
Feels like maybe they are a year of so early on dropping a demo.
Please let us turn the announcer off.
-The uplifting and triumphant music is completely gone, and replaced with some kind of simple spooky theme (which is not how WoL has ever felt).
-The voice acting leaves something to be desired, but the first one didn't have any so if that's a plus for you then fine. The quippy little comments that are constantly being made I can SO do without, however. They are clearly intended to come off as snarky yet likable, but are about as charming as a 38 year old virgin nerd asking a 22 year old bombshell if they want to join you in watching this year's Yu-gi-oh national tournament.
-The combat is solid, but the enemies seem to have a ton of health, meaning combat instances take a lot longer to clear than before. And health is just as scarce, so you are more prone to dying sooner. Then again, maybe it's similar and the spells are just weaker.
-spell variety is pretty stale, even if it's just a demo. But all the animations are crisp and delicious.
-I have no idea how to interpret any of the hub features. They are almost all locked off and there's no description or conveyance as to what they do. This is a disorienting experience for a new player and makes it unclear where to go.
-The audio settings are bugged. They don't affect the cutscenes or scripted events, and the main menu is at full volume no matter what.
-The settings are very minimal. Can't customize further than "Quality: Low or High".
Overall, it seems like it has potential and the core gameplay loop is good, but it lacks all of the charm and fun from the first one. WoL is about fast and constant action with a tremendously huge spell library. You could first time play till the end of the first stage and walk away with 2 or 3 new spells to choose from at the start of the game. You didn't have to be good at the game to experience a lot of what was on offer, and all of the interfaces made it simple to know what was what. For Children of Morta fans, this game will have some appeal for a different experience. For Wizard of Legend fans, it gives the impression it will fall significantly short of the benchmark the first game made.
We appreciate it.

(1) Very janky on the aim, half the time I'm missing because the controls are somehow not precise or not doing what I want? I'm not having the same issue in other rogue-like survivor games like Hades or Soul Survivor or Deep Rock.
(2) Time to kill on everything seems rather undertuned. It takes forever to kill anything.
(3) Some base skills unsatisfying. Maybe I didn't give it enough time but some skills just seemed entirely pointless or underpowered.
(4) Some power ups were meaningless. eg I got the arm with a sword which never really hit anything. Seemed like it was a booby prize.
(5) I like the voiceovers but entirely understand when it can seem to be too much. I've learnt that if I like it, it means you've overshot and many people will have an issue with too much talking (especially anything unskippable).
(6) I hate feedback forms.
