And here is from the wiki:
"During early development of the game, Joey was to form a relationship with John's daughter, Linda. Reminiscents of this concept can still be found in the game, in moments where Joey talks to himself about Linda, implying his romantic feelings for her"
The family of characters, are, well.... family.... so, no....
Even Joey is part of the family; he's an estranged son of one of the main/adult brothers (Ben) -- and with regard to the above (with remnant of love interest in Linda monoogue), IF that were to have been followed through with, it would be the effect of first cousins romancing each-other. Not ideal.
To list out the family tree:
-- Primary Brothers (sons of Grandma Margaret) --
- John (Married to Mary) [Playable 1]
- Ben (Not married; was in a relationship with Sheila prior) (Non-playable)
-- John's Kids --
- Linda [Playable 2]
- Mark [Playable 3]
- Lucy [Playable 4]
- Kevin [Playable 5]
- Hope (Non-playable)
-- Ben's Kid --
- Joey [Playable 6]
You COULD technically say Apon [Playable 7] (I believe a DLC character) could be a romance interest, but it's explained early on that she's already married to a village chief in the North. So, she's a no-go off the bat.
