How long should I be stuck on Caledippo Caves?
Just wondering: how long should I be stuck on Caeldippo Caves? I don't even understand what it is I have to do to progress past the first of the three areas. I just know that I keep getting what seem like different spider-boss and other fights that come off as impossible waves of spawning enemies in enclosed areas. I've only played just under two hours, but it feels like I'm kind of pointlessly stuck here. Is this normal?

Once you beat the area boss, the story will progress and a new Portal will allow you into the second area, called Barahut.
Dying is fine, just remember to use the experience to upgrade your characters.
You have under 2h, it's normal to be in the initial area.

Thanks. The upgrades are so incremental I barely notice a difference. Maybe that changes with time.

It does change with time. Some bosses are also much easier with different characters, or at least that's what I've found. Essentially each area has a boss, and once you beat that area you open up the next area.

So Caeldippo caves for example has 3 areas. Each area has a boss. Once you've beaten the third area and boss, you open up Anai Dya or whatever her name is and get access to the next area.

How long it takes you to do this is COMPLETELY irrelevant. Just enjoy the game. Don't try to compare yourself to anyone else. But yeah... at 2 hours I was still in the first area of the caves as well.

The upgrades do take time to come through, but you will start to feel it. Just try to focus on learning how to navigate the caves without taking damage. That's the biggest thing you need to learn on each character is how to preserve your health while you deal with the trash mobs. This gets much harder with each area progression, so it's important to have the basic principles down. For example I take way more damage playing Mark (Monk) than I do playing anyone else. Also don't forget John... he tends to get left in the dust because the others are more flashy and exciting, but his armor and shield are actually quite strong once you practice the timing and learn to control melee combat with it. His thorns ability is really strong.
