Ex) can both of you run the game normally in single player (aka do you meet the recommended specs), are two a significant distance from each other, do you have good internet speeds, are you on a wired connection). You don't have to provide all that info if you don't feel comfortable, but the more info we have, the better chance someone can narrow down the issue.
Without any of the above info, It almost sounds like at least one of your internet connections is moving between 'hanging on for dear life' and 'disconnect', which could be something as simple as having a wireless connection between 1 to 2 bars.
Hey! Thanks for the reply. :)
We can both play it in single-player no problem. We're under 100 km apart from each other. My connection is miles better (50MB download as opposed to her 1-2MB download.), but I've been having no issues hosting Kingdom: Two Crowns, Dragon Marked for Death and Borderlands 2, whereas in CoM I am unable to.
I'm no tech expert, but to give you a few points of comparison: Netflix recommends 5MB for standard/HD viewing for a single device, Steam recommends 10-30MB for online play (and this arguably would go up with faster games like FPS, and possibly even games like this and Borderlands). Long story short, at that speed, no matter what game you're playing, she's going to be lagging, or at least taking longer to get the information that the devs intended every second.
That being said, as I understand it, different games handle connections in different ways. Some have the host do all the heavy lifting, some are server side aka neither pc has to do much with their connection, and a few variations of it.
So long story short, this game may not be a good fit for you two if other games ran smoothly and this did not. There'd be other things you could potentially try like virtual servers to get around it, but it'd probably cost more than this game did, and thats per month. So aside from suggesting you both make sure you're not on wireless, so you're getting every bit of info out of your connections as possible, perhaps my best recommendation would be to see how the games you tried DID handle internet connections, and find games that handle online co op in a simliar fashion.
My friend and I bought the game a couple of days ago. We tried to play co-op, I'm the host. My friend is thrown back during the game, he cannot move normally, he cannot attack or interact with objects normally. We decided to change the host and now he became the leader of the group. The situation repeated itself, but now I felt all the pain that my friend felt.
Developers, please solve this problem! There is no need to drop a link to your site - it doesn’t help. Get into the game, make a normal co-op. We paid money for the game, but now we can’t play because of you.

It has been over a year now, so I don't remember exactly what we did, but I do remember spending a lot of time trying to resolve this, hence we probably have tried it. If we did, it did not work.
