on one hand, you mostly fight non-human enemies: animals, skeletons, and shadow creatures, and so on but blood splatters either way. the story definitely contains some advanced topics which might be a point to consider as well. i think it really depends on how mature your child already is. i would advice two things:
1) check the store page for your local rating agencies rating, e.g. in my country it recommends 12 yrs+
2) maybe you should superficially skip through some gameplay videos on youtube.com or twitch.tv and evaluate for yourself : ) one i picked randomly from somewhere in between: https://youtu.be/hDnzGiXk5YU
For a 7 year old and yourself, you might get very frustrated playing this game. Instead I suggest you try a game called Minecraft dungeons, it's perfect for action combat and dungeon crawling, the gameplay doesn't have much adversity and is very easy for any one of any age to pick up and play. Making it an ideal game for adults and kids to play together. It even has local co-op.
