Any other games like this?
I've come to notice that I love a lot of permanent progression in rogue-likes, because restarting doesn't hurt as much as, let's say, in Noita or Enter the Gungeon. Children of Morta absolutely nails this, and I'm curious if you guys know any other games that employ a lot of permanent progression.

Darkest Dungeon (technically, you can't lose at all there). :blight:

Hades has good progression curve and very good game overall.
Hades or Rogue Legacy have permanent upgrades. In Hades, you can purchases updates from the House Contractor or unlock new talents from the Mirror. Also, can upgrade your weapons / unlock new ones. In Rogue Legacy you acquire gold while exploring the castle. After dying you then spend the gold to upgrade talents (boost stats, unlock new classes, etc.) and craft new gear from blueprints you find; any gold you can't spend before re-entering the castle is wasted through as you lose your gold (I think there's a rare item you can get from a shrine in previous run that helps keep your gold and you can unlock talents to minimize some gold loss).

Hades is a polished hack and slash action game with a better story than most other games in genre. Rogue Legacy is 2d platformer, can be pretty grindy with all the talents to level up and can get very bullet helly in New Game++ (especially in large rooms lol)

Well, Darkest Dungeon isn't arcade game like CoM, Hades, Undermine and Rogue Legacy, it's more like a strategy (turn-based tactics). But you asked for "a lot of permanent progression in rogue-likes", and it can be argued that it's a borderland rogue-like, and there are lots of permanent progression for sure (more than in Children of Morta).

And it's a very good game too in my opinion, although it can be brutal as well. :brothersword:

yea, i think "roguelikes" that have a lot of permanent progression are called "roguelites", because they're a "lite"/easier version of the games where if you die, you lose almost everything progression wise
