Also i saw devs here on forums gave advice to exit and close the game and start it anew if something doesn't drop in a while — again, i think, to reset a random numbers generator properly.
Also, in case of quests the map itself shows where the items drop — see the corresponding text line on the dungeon select.
The souvenirs are probably going to take the longest to find but if there's a lot of them I likely won't continue to run the older areas non-stop. No gold and very little experience for just cosmetic stuff and an achievement.
I think it took me maybe an hour to get all the missing souvenirs though (earlier dungeon enemies just melt to Lucy and Kevin when you have fully upgraded Workshop). Also i saw some new random events there too. But with the new NG+ i think it's more efficient (and fun) to get them all normally in that mode (especially, after the large story DLC which devs promise in half a year or so).
Oh well.
Also not a fan of the animal shelter upgrades. If they were permanent boosts, that would be fine, but it's rather annoying feeding pets for a temporary boost.
And you can always let the animals starve!
