Comparing a Diablo clone to a story focused rpg is rather pointless though...
Very true. I've been playing games that I've paid less than 40bucks for with an average playtime of 300hrs. From a investment standpoint 40bucks for 300hrs of entertainment is the best you're gonna get for your money.
But then some games I've paid 60bucks for a total game time of a 100hours. Still no regrets since the games weren't constructed in a way to allow crazy playtimes.
All I'm saying is that you shouldn't think of a game as an investment where you calculate the cost/hour, but instead think of games as an experience.
2nd portal is basically end game already. The 3rd is not a challenge and is quite small in term of total surface, new events. I felt a kind of "gearcheck" on the first boss of the second stage and the rest of the game is basical trash, the 4 last bosses are nonfights. I steamroll everything beyond 2-1 while 1-1, 1-3 and 2-1 killed me the first time and were clutch the second.
It took me around 10h of real gameplay(not pause idle time) finishing the game using mainly the 2 ranged characters.
End game it should take less than 1 hour taking a character to 20. Also you get so much gold during the last portal that you can easily transition to a melee, I did it for the last stage and last boss, and sashimi mindlessly everything.
