How can I deal with their lair?
At certain Z-level, the downstair always get connected to centre of their lair, then I face a dozen of them.(we can't move position of a upstair, i believe)
The biggest problem is that they are loaming around the upstair, so an unit gets hit 1-2 times immediately after descending, which makes mages get squashed instantly.

I have confirmed that my best Orge warrior(42 def stats or something, maybe) can take several hits and can manage to deliver one hit before retreat. But he can nothing against them.

kiting using stairs would work.
needs a sturdy magical unit or a magical sword or something?
(Vamps are strudy magical unit but fairly useless on this duty because their spell school is Illusion)

ps:
I'm not sure about turn system, but "Slowed" units should have their own "moving turn " and "sleeping turn" cycle. This makes there must be units which moves odd turns and its even counterpart.. If all golems' moving-turns are all synchronized(mainly due to their simultanous spawn?), I could predict a safe turn to descend by watchig turns count? I'll experiment.

I (accidentally) self-solved it by getting a Cyclops and gearing him to 60/60 stats.
They are immune against physical attack but not immune to damage from limb chopping.
Hit and run through stairs seems to work. However, sometimes one of them accidentally occupies upstair tile, I needed some brute-force to make the way.

After I beat them, I found that getting Jewelry tech is an obvious solution because it unlocks Ring of Magical Damage..

Staves/Magic did not work. Magic Missile inflicts zero damage on them.

ps:
I found their moving turn is always odd, so entering into the floor on even turn ensures 1 free movement

The best way is to use mages to push them, kite them with ranged units, and/or use Trolls/other with intrinsic "limb chopping" ability. Chopping all their limbs off is effective. :)

I know that Dryads (Not sure on Elves) can one-shot elementals, too, but I don't know that a Golem has a "heart" for them to get a lucky hit on.

I did it a few times without issue, the easiest way was to just send in my keeper who had levelled up a fair bit from killing tribe leaders on the surface. Didn't take any damage as his defence was too high by that point. I think you've got to be very balanced with how far you push down Z levels vs how far you push out killing the villains on the surface.
