Utilize banish command to get rid of units you don't need. In the beginning, you WILL need a few goblins to build gear for your other minions, but towards the end-game, you no longer will need them so you can banish them all and deconstruct all the manufacture tiles to keep them from re-spawning. Don't give no care to minions that their uses have run out. Even if banishment makes other units sad, they'll forget once they get blood on their hands.
Your set up before taking on your first faction should be that you don't go out naked. You set up can vary depending on who you hit. If you hit the lizardman, I suggest you go at them with your weakest force, or orc shaman after they learn a decent set of magic. The reason is that they will gain level way faster than if they are to train, and since orc shaman's don't train, gaining levels this way will....hehehe..makes them a force to be reckon with!
If dwarfs, your minions should be able to tank melee attacks so decent gears are needed.
If elves (which is sometimes my first village to wipe out), you need minions with high dex, and can shoot arrows, and cast magic. Decent amount of levels are needed before taking them on so either train up, or steal the human mutation book from the lizardman's village. You will antagonize their forces to raid you and you should level up from there.
Lastly, the shaman's hideout, you should use the same tactics as with the dwarfs and tank up, as their forces are majority melee attackers. Be sure their dex are high enough to attack ancient spirits and drop them instantly or else you'll find yourselfs fighting your own forces. If the battle ends, check on your unit to see if any of them are red. You should banish them to keep them from assassinating the keeper.
And as corpes pile up do they poison an area if it's closed off because my pigsty room seems to be full of poison gas at them moment and all the pigs are dead and I can't really tell what happened...I wasn't attacked by anyone and don't have any poison traps in the area...unless one of my minions threw a poison potion in the pigsty room lol.
I never had a case where the pigsty is full of poison before o.o
Yeah I figured out the bow&arrows thanks but the poison thing has happened a few more times since I posted this thread and yeah I have no idea whats going on???
When it happens I've just been removing all the corpses and deconstructing the pigsty and rebuilding it. It seems to be happening about once every in game day.
