Recruit Vampires found on the Z-levels

As a necromancer is there a way to recruit Vampires that are found on the Z-levels? Couldn't find an obvious option.

I think you claim their room.

Claim is under orders.

They were friendly and I can't remember if claiming the room made them mine but they def left that room.

You don't need to claim their room. They should show up on the list of tribes you have come into contact with in the bottom left of your screen (the same place where you pillage hostile tribes). There should be an option to recruit them there if you can.

I also found them with a necromancer. Do you need to have advanced necromancy unlocked to recruit them?
They do not show up in the list of contacts. Even though I claimed the room and my keeper is using it to learn spells.

I don't think you can recruit them. They show up as 'other' in the villains list. Maybe just cannon fodder if enemies appear on that floor.

It may be due to the Necromancer's recruitment system being different or that it shows a 1/1 population, so the game sees there not being any room for these new, generated, recruits as they may be a different base-class of unit atm.
