Where to buy No Mercy (Official developer's Itch.io store link)
https://zeratgames.itch.io/no-mercy

Buy it, or don't buy it. Hate it or don't. IDC.

The story is about a step-mother who got caught cheating and the main character (male) uses this as leverage to exploit the mother physically/sexually/monetarily. Of course, this is going to cause issues: The gaming industry regularly sells violent gore, but the blackmail/sexual exploitation/r*pe topic is definitely off-limits for these big players in media reporting/news outlets, and so other big players like Steam follow suit. Controversy is guaranteed.

To be honest, I don't personally believe this sort of game has much of a place on Steam anyways, but y'all MFs definitely have done worse in GTA V and other games with similar fictional violence and body-violation associations.

Does GTA V promote violence?
Does Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 get a pass if the player participates in a fictional mass killing of innocent Russian civilians?

Remember the controversy that caused? Oh and by the way, both are on Steam.

For those that argue "this isn't a game that promotes ___, it's a game purely about ___", it's important to note that with this line of thought, literally all shooter games are guilty here. "You would never kill another human being or desecrate their bodies, but you would play a game purely about that? You must be a psychopath!" How about you think about this the next time you boot up Call of Duty. The same logic applies to No Mercy. This leads me to my next point ->

Violating another human in a fictional format has been a regular practice in triple-A gaming titles since the late 1980s and possibly prior. BUT, that fact alone does NOT make it "okay" or "acceptable" in any way to violate another human being, whether it be physical violence, sexual abuse, r*pe, blackmail, etc.

The premise of this game is undeniably messed up, and that goes without saying. It's a work of fiction in a visual novel format at the end of the day, and it exists in the same grey area that a lot of people don't like to admit exists.
