now I knów I'm not a smart man...
I've never played games like this before, thought I'd give it a go, but I cant even get the safe to open... will the finished game have something of a hints option?

We love that you're giving the game a go! While we likely won’t add an in-game hint system (so the hardcore puzzle fans get their challenge) we are considering something like a separate hint book if there's enough interest. And we *hope* to see the community come together to help each other solve the trickiest of puzzles.

As for that vault… maybe take a look around for any reset instructions. You never know where a little guidance might be hiding. 😉
I too hard a hard time with this. I've tried EVERY POSSIBLE ITERATION of her Birthday (hint dropped in two places) but the safe won't open. I wonder if this is a BUG.

Hello ! Did you type the reset instruction ? and after validation the birthday? If yes and it doesn't still open. Can I suggest to go in our discord to share more informations about this bug (if bug there is)

to much running around click on everything just in case it might contain something for something somewhere, like a reset instruction that the game it self have no indication of even be needed at all. All you know about the password is the date the Email say.

And now its drawing a pattern im sure is hidden somewhere stupid, finding keypad password obviously hidden somewhere on mars.

Hey joridiculous,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We hear you, some of the puzzles do require careful observation and exploration, and we know that style isn’t for everyone. That said, all the solutions are placed with intent, and there are clues in the environment to guide players. If anything feels particularly unclear, we'd love to hear specific feedback so we can continue improving.

If you're stuck, feel free to check out community discussions for hints or let us know what part is giving you trouble. We’re happy to help!
Honestly, I have too many games to play to spend time on this kind of thing. A lot of games today allow puzzles to replace game-play rather than accent it - if I wanted that, I'd buy a Rubik's Cube. "Tormented Souls" had this problem too, with all the actual game-play in the demo, and nothing beyond but one obtuse puzzle after another. How about letting the players get to the cafeteria (for a coffee) before throwing an S.A.T. test at them?

that right there tells how you made the wrong design decision , when you have too go to some " community discussions" to find solution to a MUST have part of the game.
Why the heck is the reset of the "safe pin-code" in a box outside the room? It does not make any sense what so ever. That you even have too reset the PIN at all even after reading the email where it say it was reset too you b-date is stupid.
And of course after a loop, you still cant open the safe with out reset. Again, stupid. (Not that you must go in there, its still dumb)

@artphotodude – Hey, we get it, some people want a quick coffee, others want a five-course puzzle feast. This game leans toward the latter, and we know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea (or espresso ☕). But for those who love unraveling mysteries and engaging with the community to crack the toughest challenges, we’re here to deliver. Either way, appreciate you checking it out!

@joridiculous – Safe codes, am I right? Look, we designed this game for those who enjoy a challenge, where the answer isn’t just handed to you but earned. If that’s not your thing, no worries! But for players who love digging deeper, thinking outside the box (or safe?), and even theory-crafting with the community, we’ve built this experience just for you. Thanks for checking out the game! 🔐

oh you are damned right i want buy this game. I got far better puzzlers to solve, both existing and due for release. One of them, a Remake, i know will give me many man y hours of trying intended and unconventional ways to solve the puzzles, just like the OG game gave me ~300 hours of puzzle solving. Not 2 hours of running around clicking on everything as the main mean to solve a "puzzle" that shouldn't be a puzzle in the first place.

So I just want to say I had zero problems with this puzzle because after trying the combo a few times, I decided to come back later and then immediately found the instructions to reset right outside my character's door. The email even says that the birthday is a reset code, it doesn't say its the password.

I feel more like this is a patience and tunnel vision issue than a bad design issue IMO

Funny you say that, I just played the demo and the way puzzles are incorporated in the plot was the thing I immediately appreciated. The items placement is a mess but it only requires you to inspect more drawers and chests to get all the hints, and the puzzles themselves for the most part are pretty diegetic, not your common escape room kind of "we put a radio transmitter in the suitcase because why not"
