All the fun I had from the stages were each time devoured by the boss. The difficulty gap is so huge that it's only frustrating. Not as DarkSouls were you have a feeling of accomplishment for overcoming a boss, there it's just a overwhelming mass of stunlocks and other really sad stuffs. It's too bad because I loved all the others side of the game.

But yeah, the bosses are way way way way way way way way way way way harder than everything else in the game.
PS : Yes, I did it in the end, but man, that was so much time wasted. I didn't feel rewarded at all. That's quite a shame.

there is plenty of mechanics of the game to take into account and once it's done the game is not that difficult. look in the options at the different mechanics, kind for the counters or evasions. Rather than increase your character, put your points in the techniques, for increased combos or crush counter. you can farm the points to level up your character and be stronger. sorry for my english i use google translate

Would say the typical "git gud", but yeah... Learn the mechanics of the game and you can slaughter bosses VERY fast. Meter is your friend.

it seems to be a thing with a lot of japanise games (just look at dynasty worriors) super easy stage then the boss bodys you like your a fly.

this is'nt a japanize thing but just how technical games operate. You need to have an understanding of game mechanics and apply them accordingly.

From what i can tell. difficulty only adjust enemy States and spawn rate. ( drops as well)

otherwise method of approach stay the same.

TLDR: The first boss is very cheap and without at least your DP unlocked expect a very, very difficult fight.

Going to go ahead and say this is incorrect in my experience.

Well, for bosses anyway. On normal I steamrolled through them.

Hard? I spent about an hour and a half on White Mikoto. Someone on a much older thread mentioned that people who have fighting game experience won't have trouble. Well, that would be my favorite genre and I still saw this boss to be ridiculous. Once you take out about a quarter of her HP she starts guarding nearly everything you throw at her perfectly and the moment there is any gap in your block string she immediately throws her DP (down+SP in this game) in your face. I can't say how many startup frames that thing has, but it comes out fast enough to beat both standing and crouching lights, at least on Waka. Worse still is that she can literally counter you with it mid-combo if you don't cut it short before the last two hits of Waka's light combo, so even successfully landing a hit isn't completely safe. If a character in a fighting game had a DP like this, they would be severely overpowered. It has massive blockstun making it nearly impossible to even move and no recovery frames in the air allowing her to use a jump attack that is active for days and has good vertical range. On top of that it wins against almost any clash since it rapidly hits multiple times.

People have been saying that it's wiser to invest in skills as opposed to stats, and that may be true. I focused on stats; prioritized defense which was at about 50%, while my attack was at maybe 30%. Neither made any big difference. She still hit like a truck and I was doing bug bites to her. The only skills I had were the hi and double jumps and the first SP skill, which was my DP. And I can confirm that if I didn't have that DP I don't think I would have been able to beat her.

It seems DPs actually do have some invulnerability frames, like in actual fighting games, but very few. Either that, or I just got stupid lucky. Basically, what I had to do was use my M+H liberally until I could kill the add. After he was gone, I actually waited for her to start doing her DP spam. This can actually be beaten by your own DP, but because of the amount of forward momentum it has, if you time it too early you'll soar right under her descent. If you time it too late her jump...medium? I think?...will counter hit you. But if you time it perfectly the invuln frames of your DP will let you past the jump attack and she'll be at the perfect height of her fall so you won't go under her. Once I found that sweet spot I was able to land this consistently. Once I got her in the corner I could juggle her there with standing medium into standing heavy and relaunch her with my DP which is much easier since you can't get behind her while she's cornered meaning you don't need to be perfect on the timing.

I did this on a fresh run on Waka who I believe was at lv. 15, and this fight honestly makes me feel like they intended for you to take an already leveled up character into the harder difficulties.

honestly i found this game pretty easy overall. Nightmare+ is the only difficulty that offers somewhat of a challenge, but that's probably due to me having Itsuki at level 84.

You gotta think of it as something akin to the likes of Castle Crashers.

Difficulty isn't so much based on skill, as much as just playing to level-up to get through the next part. Which I have no problems with, tbh.

At lvl10 you should rinse the first level and this'll repeat exponentially as you replay and increase difficulty, whilst levelling your character's powers and abilities. It's a grind game done well, imo.

Basically, after you kill the big dude that's there with her, wait for her to start doing that move where she does a vertical jump slash (she likes to use this move over, and over, and over...). When she uses that, there is a small window where you can do your own vertical jump slash and it will go through hers without you taking damage and will hit her. Just do that over and over.

All the rest was me ranting.

the thing that makes the bosses difficult is their ability to do to u what u do to mobs, special moves and ex moves will eat any attempt to attack, so you would have to either stage hop to avoid it or block it and counter.....assuming boss doesnt spam the ♥♥♥♥ out of it lmao, usually forcing the boss to stage hop to attack u can give u openings to land combos if u time it just right

If you can perform run+stab, you can beat the entire game almost in one sitting. Forward, Forward, Square (or X in xbox gamepad).

At least, that was my experience. Sure, i've probably got killed once or twice, but... well. The game is 2 hours long, and I've played for just 2 hours, so you can do the math.

I'm not trying to say that I'm some kind of next level gamer whatsoever. Just pointing out an easy way to go.

Cheers!
